Who Is Bijan Robinson?
Bijan Robinson is an American football running back for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League. He played college football at Texas, where he won the Doak Walker Award and was a unanimous All-American in 2022 before being selected by the Falcons eighth overall in the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Atlanta Falcons drafted Bijan Robinson with the 8th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
It's rare to see a running back taken in the top ten these days but Robinson is good enough to break conventional wisdom. He will immediately become the focal point of the Atlanta offense and instantly becomes a top ten running back and the overwhelming favorite to be the 1.01 in dynasty leagues, regardless of format. Tyler Allgeier will now become a solid change of pace back as Robinson is in line for a monster workload as the Falcons build around Desmond Ridder. Dynasty managers may have been hoping for a different landing spot but Atlanta offers some sneaky fantasy value. Robinson is a no-brainer.

In the ESPN Buzz article, there's a belief some GM's may favor Jahmyr Gibbs over Bijan Robinson due to his style of play
On the eve of the draft, and many dynasty rookie drafts, it's an interesting development. Robinson is still viewed as the top-overall running back but Gibbs' style has been compared to Alvin Kamara and he'll come at much less cost to that of Robinson. Additionally, Jaxon Smith-Njigba remains the clear rookie WR1 in this class, perhaps setting up a similar situation to that of Najee Harris and Ja'Marr Chase in 2021 , with Chase now clearly the prized asset from that draft class. Running backs continue to be devalued due to committee, career-length and injury risk and with the Ravens now also rumored to have interest in Robinson, a situation which would potentially devalue Robinson's dynasty value, the top-three dynasty rookie draft selections are now more interesting. Bijan Robinson remains atop DLF's rookie rankings.

The Falcons are the "betting favorite" (+200) to draft Bijan Robinson with their 8th-overall selection in the 2023 NFL Draft
Rumors continue to swirl that the Falcons have fallen in love with Robinson and may be willing to step up with the selection despite the presence of 2022 rookie Tyler Allgeier, who rushed for 1,000 yards last year. Of course, we're in prime smoke screen territory just days ahead of the draft and teams selecting shortly after the Falcons, primarily the Eagles and Lions, have also been linked to the phenom. We'll know soon enough. It's not a bad landing spot for dynasty coaches though those rostering Allgeier would be less than pleased. Robinson is the easy choice as dynasty's top-overall player in the 2023 NFL Draft.

As if there's another trait needed to secure Robinson's status as the top-overall selection in dynasty rookie drafts. Being hailed as the next great back after Saquon Barkley, Robinson can do-it-all and profiles as an early-career three-down player who will have no problem flying against the wind to be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft. It will be surprising if Robinson isn't selected within the first 20 picks, watch the Eagles at tenth-overall to fill an immediate need. Bijan Robinson is the top dynasty rookie asset in 2023 and it's not close.

In Matt Bowen's annual team fits article, he cites Atlanta as the best destination for Bijan Robinson.
This is all speculation, of course. However, you can certainly see the logic here as Atlanta could use a superior weapon in the running game. His addition would shatter the value of Tyler Allgeier in the process as Robinson projects as a workhorse runner in the NFL. At this point, Bijan remains our RB1 and #1 overall rookie while we all wait and wonder.

According to BackCAST projections, Bijan Robinson is not a generational talent similar to Saquon Barkley or even Jonathan Taylor.
The BackCAST model projects running backs based on successful statistics from the past in order to gauge future success. In fact, according to BackCAST, Robinson most favorably compares to Travis Etienne and Reggie Bush. While Robinson remains unquestionably the strongest back in a somewhat weak BackCAST class, he doesn't appear to excel in any one metric which provides for a higher score. Robinson remains the top rookie prospect without question and is certain to remain so following the NFL Draft.

In Bucky Brooks' most recent mock draft, Bijan Robinson is selected 21st-overall by the Chargers
A selection by the Chargers has been a common theme in recent mock drafts and the stars would seem to be aligning with Austin Ekeler unhappy about his contract status and the Chargers seemingly unwilling to do much about it given the running backs available in he 2023 NFL Draft. Given Robinson's generational-back label, it's hard to imagine the upside runner not being scooped up earlier and the Eagles at 10th-overall have been rumored to be interested. In fantasy, Robinson's drafted situation is arguably the most interesting of all the skill position players and, as the unquestioned top-overall selection in fantasy drafts, fingers will be crossed for a good situation, Philadelphia topping the list. Robinson is found as DLF's top 2023 rookie.

In Todd McShay's first mock draft following the NFL Combine, Bijan Robinson is selected by the Eagles 10th-overall
The selection would be lauded across the fantasy landscape for two reasons: 1) There's arguably no better landing spot for Robinson given projected role and, 2) A running back is finally given his due for the talent he possesses. The former being most noteworthy, Robinson to the Eagles would pave the way for significant upside in the rookie's first season and also place him in start-up first-round candidacy as well. Robinson, DLF's RB1, will be the top selection in dynasty rookie drafts in all formats.

Bijan Robinson ran a 4.46 40-yard dash.
He also turned in a 37" vertical and a 10'4" broad jump. There was never any danger of Robinson losing the top overall rookie selection status and he performed well in all drills. He'll cruise to the 1.01 selection in all rookie drafts almost regardless of format. He's listed as DLF's RB1 and the R1 overall.

There will be collective sighs across the dynasty landscape if this selection is made, especially with the Ravens' clear need at receiver. Beyond positional need, Robinson would share the backfield with J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards, thus throwing all of them into role-risk status. That said, Robinson would immediately project as the RB1 in Baltimore and he remains the most exciting prospect at the position since Saquon Barkley. He remains the unquestioned top-overall dynasty rookie in 2023 and is a near-lock to be selected first-overall in most every dynasty format, including superflex. He's listed as DLF's rookie RB1 and the R1 overall.
