Who Is Justin Fields?
Justin Skyler Fields is an American football quarterback for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League. Following a stint with Georgia, he played college football at Ohio State, where he was named the Graham–George Offensive Player of the Year twice and reached the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship.

The Bears hope they have added enough talent on offense to allow Justin Fields to show improvement that leads to long-term success.
Fields was hit more times than any other quarterback in 2022, and by a wide margin. That, when combined with his running prowess, doesn't bode well for the upside starter to remain healthy for the long term. The team entered 2022 with one of the worst cast of performers at receiver and then lost WR1 Darnell Mooney to an ankle injury late in November. They added Chase Claypool ahead of the 2022 trade deadline and then, early this offseason, traded with Carolina for WR1-capable DJ Moore. With additional help added along the offensive line, the hope is for Fields to develop as a passer, reducing the reliance on his mobility. If successful, the improved offensive performance would allow Fields to be more effective as a runner. Found as DLF's QB8, success is baked into Fields' dynasty ranking and he'll be expected to show considerable development in 2023 to secure his face-of-the-franchise potential.

Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said Justin Fields has "made some big strides" this offseason
Eberflus went on to say that the team needs to improve its passing attack, hardly a shocking admission after its dismal 2022 finish. Unbelievably, the team entered 2022 with one of the worst wide receiver corps. in the league and didn't augment it significantly during the draft before adding Chase Claypool from the Steelers mid-season. This offseason, they traded for DJ Moore and signed tight end Robert Tonyan as additional targets. It remains to be seen if Fields will be able to put it all together in 2023 to become a notable passer to complement his dynamic mobility (1,143 rushing yards in 2022) but arrows are finally pointing up for the 24-year-old, and his offseason progression may be a positive sign of better things to come. It's a blockbuster trade for all involved and the big winner could be Fields. The Panthers will select their new face of the franchise while the Bears now have a legitimate young receiver group with Darnell Mooney, D.J. Moore, and Chase Claypool expected to be starting. Fields' mobility was the primary weapon for the Bears offense in 2022 and the team badly needed an upgrade. The upgraded passing attack should allow Fields to be more selective in his runs. Found as DLF's QB8, he's on the rise.

Justin Fields rushed for only 11 yards in the team's loss to the Bills in week 16.
It had all the makings for a disappointing fantasy performance and lived up to the billing to the dismay of his fantasy managers. The Bills realized the Bears lack of passing attack meant they could simply stack the line to stop Fields and David Montgomery while daring the second-year quarterback to outproduce them through the air. Despite his impressive fantasy production, the Bears simply don't possess the weapons to remove defenders from the box and it's a script which could play out in the remaining two games, making Fields a risk-on fantasy play during fantasy championship week 16. Fields, DLF's QB7 has performed well enough as a runner to support his high ranking but will need the team to address the receiver position if he hopes to develop as a pass-first quarterback in 2023.

Justin Fields reached the 1,000 yard plateau as a rusher in the team's week 15 loss to the Eagles
It's an impressive feat but Fields continues to take a beating and the team remains dead-last in passing yards, a meager 185 yards per game. Furthermore, despite Fields' rushing prowess, the team remains 3-11 on the season and has lost nine of its last ten games. Priority number one during the offseason will be to acquire a combination of veterans and rookie selections to bolster the passing attack, thus taking pressure off Fields as a runner. Despite the team's struggles in the NFL, Fields is now the fantasy QB7 and has produced seven straight 23+ point fantasy games in games he started. He did miss week 12 due to injury. Fields continues to be an upside talent but the team badly needs to address its passing attack woes lest their coveted new face of the franchise falls to a major injury sooner rather than later. He's listed as DLF's QB7 and has immense upside if the team makes progress in 2023.
