The Dynasty Aftermath: Stocking Stuffers
Welcome to DLF’s Dynasty Aftermath. This staple article is our longest running signature piece as we have a little fun after a tough week at the Dynasty League Football office. You’ll find this article will review the week’s happenings in a variety of ways and help set you up for the coming weeks as we spin around the league in the way we know best. Expect it each and every week. I’ve written this column for the past eighteen years (I cannot believe I just typed that) and I love it . I enjoy combing through the stats of the week on Monday night, putting together ridiculous lineups, picking MVPs/LVPs and discussing things to worry about.
That’s not all. I also really love sharing observations, little bits of entertainment or some stories with the community of DLF and picking a theme for this column each week. You really never know what you’re going to get.
Well, it’s the holiday season. With it being Christmas Eve, I figure it’s time for me to add a list of stocking stuffers I’d like to see this week! These are the things I’d like to see under my tree for the teams I have left.
1.) Jalen Hurts to somehow get healthy enough to play this week.
2.) Michael Penix to show he can be the quarterback Atlanta really needs
3.) Jonathan Taylor doing this one more time.
4.) Jaylen Waddle to play this week.
5.) Kyle Pitts to catch a pass
6.) Tyreek Hill to come back to form
7.) Russell Wilson to put up one last vintage performance
8.) James Conner to somehow play
9.) Cooper Kupp to be Cooper Kupp
10.) Breece Hall to look like the player we thought we had
Have a great Christmas, everyone. Let’s get to it…
Fantasy MVP of the Week
There was once a time where Jonathan Taylor was the top asset in all of dynasty leagues. After all, he was one of the most feared players in the league, capable of putting up monster numbers on any given week. However, this has not been his year as he’d been fine, but had only posted one game with 20 or more fantasy points on the season. That all changed on Sunday as Taylor recorded 218 rushing yards with three touchdowns in a win against Tennessee. This was the Taylor we had all wanted to see and it couldn’t have come at a better time.
Fantasy LVP of the Week
Injuries are a part of the game, but any dynasty manager who lost Jalen Hurts to a concussion after he had passed for just 11 yards was likely sunk. This was an awful development at the worst possible time. Hopefully a team with Hurts had the aforementioned Taylor this week.

Gut Checks
I’d be worried if I needed anything from Amari Cooper.
I’d be worried if I needed a monster game from Tyreek Hill at the moment.
I’d be worried if I was needing Breece Hall.
I’d be worried if I was ignoring a pretty good season from Drake Maye.
I’d be worried if I was still thinking Najee Harris was a lineup lock.
I’d be worried if I was playing against Derrick Henry.
I’d be worried if I missed out on Ja’Marr Chase years ago.
I’d be worried if I underestimated Jerome Ford this week.
I’d be worried if I thought Diontae Johnson was going to somehow save the Texans.
I’d be worried if I missed out on Brian Thomas Jr. Wow. Just wow.
I’d be worried if I thought the Titans quarterback of the future was currently on their roster.
I’d be worried if I was relying on any Chiefs pass catcher.
I’d be worried if I wasn’t impressed with Justin Herbert this season.
I’d be worried if I thought the Broncos running back of the future was on their roster.
I’d be worried if I missed out on Brock Bowers.
I’d be worried if I needed Jalen Hurts this week.
I’d be worried if I was underestimating Terry McLaurin.
I’d be worried if I needed anything from Luke Schoonmaker.
I’d be worried if I wasn’t a little worried about Tyrone Tracy Jr.
I’d be worried if I thought Jared Goff wasn’t a QB1.
I’d be worried if I thought Sam Darnold was going to be irrelevant next season.
I’d be worried if I wasn’t really impressed with Josh Jacobs this season.
I’d be worried if I was ignoring solid numbers from Caleb Williams, despite playing on a mess of a team.
I’d be worried if I thought Kirk Cousins was going to be automatically relevant next year.
I’d be worried if I missed out on trading for Jalen McMillan earlier in the season.
I’d be worried if I needed big numbers from Kendre Miller to end the year.
I’d be worried if I gave up on Bryce Young.
I’d be worried if I needed a monster game from Matthew Stafford this week.
I’d be worried if I thought Geno Smith was long for the road in Seattle.
I’d be worried if I needed James Conner the rest of the way.
I’d be worried if I thought Brock Purdy was going to automatically get that extension.
Dynasty Rookie Rankings
Always check our latest rankings to see the updates throughout the week. These rankings are simply my own.
1.) Brock Bowers, TE LV
He’s unreal right now.
2.) Brian Thomas Jr, WR JAX
Sorry, but it’s time to put him here. He’s a DUDE.
3.) Malik Nabers, WR NYG
The Giants need to get him the ball somehow.
4.) Â Marvin Harrison Jr WR ARI
Seven double-digit fantasy performances and nine single-digit ones this season – that’s just not good enough with Murray.
5.) Jayden Daniels, QB WAS
QB1 long-term. Could one day be THE QB1.
6.) Ladd McConkey WR LAC
Still love what he’s given.
7.) Rome Odunze, WR CHI
It hasn’t been great.
8.) Caleb Williams, QB CHI
I’m putting him back on here because he’s still putting up solid numbers despite losing.
9.) Xavier Worthy, WR KC
Starting to come on big-time now.
9.) Bucky Irving, RB TB
Could take over in Tampa next season.
