The Eagles have are signing running back Saquon Barkley to a three year, $37.8 million contract.
And now free agency begins. Barkley gets a whopping $26 million guaranteed to switch NFC teams and immediately takes over as the RB1 in Philly. While his production has waned in recent years, Barkley should flourish behind a better offensive line and a scheme that's built around the run. The only challenge here is the existence of Jalen Hurts, who siphons a ton of rushing touchdowns off his running backs. In the end. Barkley should provide RB1 value. While his days as a top ten asset are over, this is an exciting landing spot.

The Giants are unlikely to use the franchise tag on running back Saquon Barkley.
With a huge crop of running backs hitting free agency, the Giants are looking like a team unwilling to pony up north of $12 million to keep their star runner. While they could still bring him back on a long-term deal, it looks as if Barkley is going to control his own destiny for the first time in his career. While still dynamic with the ball in his hands, Barkley is reaching the age where running backs decline and his dynasty value will be purely contingent on where he lands, though his days as an elite asset are likely over.

After running behind poor lines in New York for years, he should have a strong unit in front of him for 2024 and beyond.
