  • Saquon Barkley leads league · Oct 7, 2022

Giants running back Saquon Barkley leads the league in rushing yards through four weeks

Welcome back! There was arguably no greater risk-reward play in dynasty than Barkley during this past offseason, and he is already nearing his rushing total from 2020 and 2021, combined! Through four weeks, the 25-year-old has produced 463 yards and two touchdowns as a runner and 107 yards on 15 receptions as a receiver. The production places him as the RB1 in PPR formats, narrowly outpacing Cleveland's Nick Chubb. Barkly, now in his fifth year, has never been without talent but has been unable to remain off the trainer's table, appearing in only 28 games over his past three seasons excluding 2022. Now fully healthy and still plenty young for significant production over multiple years, as long as the former top back can stay on the field, it seems risk-on dynasty coaches may have caught an extreme value. Barkley is listed as DLF's RB5 and remains on the rise.

  • Saquon Barkley feasting · Oct 3, 2022

Saquon Barkley had 146 yards rushing and added two catches for another 16 yards in New York's win against Chicago.

Any questions on the status of Barkley's health have been put to rest the first month of the season as he's simply looked like the best running back in the league thus far. While dynasty managers would have loved to see him score on Sunday, the yards, explosiveness, agility, and elusiveness just simply look to be back after last year's awful season. Barkley is moving up the ranks and his spot at #6 looks too low at the moment.

  • Saquon Barkley bottled up · Sep 19, 2022

Saquon Barkley had 72 rushing yards, three catches and 16 receiving yards in New York's win against Carolina.

Barkley saved his day with a couple of long gains in the fourth quarter, but was otherwise kept in check by the Carolina defense. On the plus side, Barkley made it out of the game unscathed and has looked very healthy through two weeks this season. This game may present a quick buy-low window for our RB6 and quite possibly the last for some time.

  • Saquon Barkley goes off · Sep 12, 2022

Giants running back Saquon Barkley totaled 164 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries and 30 yards on six receptions in the team's victory over the Titans in week one.

Welcome back Saquon Barkley! Dynasty coaches have been flocking back to the oft-injured running back all summer as hope blooms eternal that 2022 is the year he recaptures the glory of his rookie season. The production outburst will go a long way to validating his DLF RB10 ranking and recovering ADP23 value though avoiding injury is the primary goal. There's not much to be said here other than Barkley has shown he can still be a force at the position when healthy. As an added bonus, he was in on 83% of the team's offensive snaps showing that no RBBC exists.

  • Saquon Barkley could stay · Sep 10, 2022

Giants contract year running back Saquon Barkley seems open to staying in New York beyond 2022

The story reads more like a player who is focused on staying healthy and letting his agent figure out the rest rather than a desire to remain with the Giants. The team picked up Barkley's fifth-year option and all expectations are that the 25-year-old would play out 2022 and depart in 2023. With dynasty coaches willing to give the talented back one more year to prove he can stay off the trainer's table, his ranking hangs in the balance. Along with Panthers' back Christian McCaffrey, there are arguably no two greater risk-reward running backs with a lot to prove in 2022. Barkley is listed as DLF's RB10.

  • Saquon Barkley is explosive · Aug 16, 2022

Giants contract-year running back Saquon Barkley has looked explosive in camp

The narrative on Barkley all offseason has been about his health, explosiveness and his expected bounce-back season. Truth be told, Barkley has always had the capability and potential but a combination of unavoidable significant injury and poor offensive play has rendered the once-great back to almost to dynasty afterthought status. Barkley's value has been percolating higher once again as hopes rise that 2022 is the year he returns to his rookie-year form. Now in a contract year, the chances of him returning to the team in 2023 seem remote though a big year could bring franchise tag consideration. In any case, 2022 is as true a make-or-break season as can be had for the running back for another stretch of missed games due to injury will likely send him to the dynasty doghouse for good. Saquon Barkley is found as a tenuous-but-rising RB11 on DLF's running back rankings.

  • Saquon Barkley looking good · Jul 30, 2022

Peter King says Giants running back Saquon Barkley continues to look good in camp.

King did say that Barkley dropped an easy swing pass that hit his hands but has looked good otherwise. Barkley's value has been on the rise of late as the 25-year-old is fully healthy and in a contract year. His DLF ADP has risen from 31 in February of 2022 to 18 currently showing that there's renewed confidence in, not only his health, but his production potential in 2022 and beyond. Should Barkley finally turn in a full season of production, willing risk-on dynasty managers could be well rewarded for being early on the potential comeback player candidate. However, any additional significant injury will result in a mass exodus from Barkley's bandwagon. He's currently listed as DLF's RB12.

  • Saquon Barkley on the move · Jun 12, 2022

Giants contract-year running back Saquon Barkley is being moved "all over the place" in the offense

Barkley has seen an uptick in value of late as it appears the team is committed to getting the injury-prone back touches in any way they can, not only with hand-offs. He's seen time in the slot, as a receiver and as a motion-receiver in addition to his normal carries out of the backfield. There's no question about Barkley's potential impact this season and no one questions his skill-making ability, but plenty of questions remain about his ability to remain on the field.. Barkley's injury woes began in 2019 and he suffered his most significant setback in 2020 when he tore his ACL. An unrelated 2021 ankle injury, again, landed him back on the trainer's table. Now in a contract year, it's going to take a huge year for the Giants to consider a franchise tag designation for 2023 but for now, it appears as though all arrows are pointing straight up for Barkley in 2022. The 25-year-old is listed as DLF's RB14 and makes for an intriguing risk-reward selection in start-up drafts or trade target.

  • Saquon Barkley to see more receptions · Jun 2, 2022

Giants running back Saquon Barkley expects to be more involved as a receiver in 2022.

We've heard the other reports from beat writers and coaches that Barkley has been looking good and will be more active out of the backfield as a receiver, but now the word comes directly from the player as hiumself. Playing in his contract year, Barkley is almost certainly going to be with a new team in 2023 and he's fully healthy and energized for 2022. Whether the G-men's offense, as limiting as was his injury woes, can be more effective is anyone's guess and without greater efficiency from quarterback Daniel Jones, also in a contract year, opposing defenses may simply stack the box to stop the the team's top weapon. Should the Giants find offensive consistency and Barkley remains off the trainer's table, the setup would be present for significant value and production for DLF's RB14. Saquon Barkley will play all of 2022 at age 25, leaving plenty of years of production ahead, though he'll have to prove he can remain injury free.
