Not sure if you will read this but…
First year team in 10-team league, sitting at 3-5. I think next year is my year. I have:
- 22′: my 1st (could be high or mid round) and a late 1st, plus my 2nd, an early 2nd, and a late 2nd
- CeeDee, JaMarr, AND Justin Jefferson
- Swift and Javonte and JK Dobbins (I drafted based on your rankings soo this makes sense)
- Trevor Lawrence
- Friermuth
- Prospects
I have the ear of the Kyle Pitts owner (who is in last but willing to deal?!). I have the late 22′ 1st plus my 23′ 1st (which I am assuming will be mid to late) on the table, which he may accept (somehow) but is waffling.
He would take my 22′ 1st and the late 22′ first I have (i.e. both my 22′ 1sts). Which trade do you prefer? If I make the second trade, I think my pick 22′ 1st ends up being a mid 1st since my team is then pretty strong this year with Pitts. From what you say, maybe I want to be in on the 23′ draft and can punt the 1st round of the 22′?
Sorry for so many details, and thank you!! Your work is awesome.
1 QB 1 TE too

Those two 1sts (from a supposed weaker class) don’t seem like a bad price for Pitts. He was a 1st this year and has exceeded the production typically witnessed from rookie TEs. Reports of unicorns being real may be true.
Thank you!!! And I will do that:)
IMO, keep your ’23 1st, trade both ’22 1st for Pitts, then see if you can move two of the ’22 2nds and a weaker prospect to get another ’23 1st (do this part before others in your league catch on to weak ’22 class vs. strong ’23 class). Going into ’22, see if you can flip the last 2nd for a solid vet QB nearing/during your rookie draft (when pick values are at all time high) to allow more time for Trevor to develop. This last part could change as this year and offseason progresses, but seems like a solid plan to be a potential contender next year.
thank you so much! I love that approach. I just got onto the fact that ppl saying ’23 is the one to target
