The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Penn State tight end Brenton Strange in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
This was a bit of a surprise selection as tight end wasn't really a priority for the Jaguars after they retained Evan Engram this offseason. However, Engram has had his share of injuries and is playing on the franchise tag this season, giving Jacksonville a way out after this season should last year's performance become an anomaly. Strange will likely be a late round pick in rookie drafts but not one without a runway to relevance at some point.
