Jordan Lee Addison is an American football wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League. He played college football at Pittsburgh, where he won the 2021 Fred Biletnikoff Award before playing the following season at USC.

In a PFF article ranking rookie receivers according to best situation, Jordan Addison is at the top of the list.
Addison should step onto the field as a starter from week one and PFF believes he has a "strong shot" in leading all rookie receivers in snaps played. Starting across from phenom Justin Jefferson is a positive for Addison as is the team's offseason release of Adam Thielen, clearing the way for the rookie to see a significant role from day one. Rookie receiver production can be difficult to project but Addison's drafted situation does stand out. He's listed as DLF's rookie WR2 and our WR25 overall.

Head coach Kevin O'Connell said of rookie Jordan Addison: “You could tell he’s a little bit ahead of a lot of guys with how he’s lining up.”
We'll be hearing a lot of glowing rookie reports in the coming weeks as practices continue though Addison figures to perform well due to his pro-style collegiate experience and production. All expectations are that he'll compete immediately for the team's WR2 role, locked in a battle with K.J. Osborn for the role. After Jaxon Smith-Njigba as DLF's rookie WR1, Addison is closely ranked with fellow rookies Zay Flowers (BAL) and Quentin Johnson (LAC) and is currently found as our rookie WR2. There's no discounting Addison's drafted situation and opportunity for early-career production.

It stands to reason as the Vikings moved on from Adam Thielen and superstar Justin Jefferson remains the top receiver in the game. Addison is a fluid and rangy receiver who is pro-ready and should immediately fit in as a slot-specialist to a potential playmaker from day one. He's found as a premium-laden WR25 in DLF's receiver rankings showing big expectations are attached to his rookie season.

USC wide receiver Jordan Addison was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings with pick #23 of the 2023 NFL Draft.
History will always connect Jaxon Smith-Njigba (#20), Quentin Johnston (#21), Zay Flowers (#22) and Addison (#23) as they were taken 1-2-3-4 in the draft. Addison was dominant at Pittsburgh with Kenny Pickett and will now slot opposite Justin Jefferson with the Vikings. There were better landing spots as Addison has little chance of achieving WR1 numbers in the presence of Jefferson. Still, we saw Adam Thielen be a fantasy weapon in this spot for a number of years. Addison will have to compete with KJ Osborn and others for wide receiver targets but he looks like a solid mid-to-late first rounder in rookie drafts.

In Todd McShay's first mock draft following the NFL Combine, Jordan Addison is selected by the Chargers 21st-overall.
Addison had a good-not-great combine outing, running a 4.49 40 which was slower than many were hoping for at his weight. The rookie had productivity at both Pittsburgh and USC and is fluid in his routes with the ability to separate. A thin frame continues to be a concern but he's certain to be within the top three selected at receiver. Jordan Addison is listed as DLF's WR3.

Jordan Addison ran a faster 4.40 in the 40 on his second attempt.
The time eclipsed his first run of 4.55 and it's an important improvement given his 173 lbs. frame. Addison still tops some receiver boards though could be hard-pressed to remain on top after displaying slower-than-expected long speed and less-than-ideal weight. He remains as DLF's rookie WR2 for now.

Measuring in below 6' and at 173 lbs., he'll continue to have his detractors in this 2023 class which features, arguably, four receivers who could be the WR1 overall. Unlike Zay Flowers, Addison has not added weight since the end of the collegiate season. While production tells a story of a capable and savvy receiver, his measured size will likely be a concern for some teams. He's found as DLF's rookie WR2 which could move this weekend dependent on the performances and measurements of other receivers in this class.

Addison would be a luxury pick for the Vikings except for the fact that veteran Adam Thielen is not guaranteed to return and WR3 K.J. Osborn will be a free agent in 2024. Addison is undersized but plays with physicality while having been productive at both Pittsburgh and pro-style USC. A selection by Minnesota would pair the rookie across from Justin Jefferson in time though early-career production could be slow to develop. He's listed as DLF's rookie WR2 and the R4 overall.

ESPN's Matt Miller compares USC receiver Jordan Addison to Keenan Allen
It's a comp we've heard before and it's far more relative to play style than physical comparison. Allen, standing at 6'2/211 lbs. possesses probably three additional inches and 40 more pounds to that of Addison, but there are similarities in route intelligence and after-the-catch physicality. That's where the comparison ends, however. Addison will look to follow-on to many other recent USC receivers to advance to the next level with success but his slight build remains a concern to some. He's listed as DLF's WR2 and the R4 overall.
