The Dynasty Aftermath: Season Recap
Welcome to DLF’s Dynasty Aftermath. This staple article is our longest running signature piece as we have a little fun after a tough week at the Dynasty League Football office. You’ll find this article will review the week’s happenings in a variety of ways and help set you up for the coming weeks as we spin around the league in the way we know best. Expect it each and every week. I’ve written this column for the past eighteen years (I cannot believe I just typed that) and I love it . I enjoy combing through the stats of the week on Monday night, putting together ridiculous lineups, picking MVPs/LVPs and discussing things to worry about. This one is long, so let’s get to it!
Fantasy MVP of the Year
There are a lot of candidates for this including Saquon Barkley, Bijan Robinson, Jahmyr Gibbs, Derrick Henry, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, George Kittle, Brock Bowers, and Trey McBride. I’m going to go WAY out there, though. I honestly think this year’s fantasy MVP is Baker Mayfield. When you compare his ADP with what you got from him (4,500 passing yards, 41 touchdowns) and what he did in Week 17 (359 passing yards and five touchdowns), this was the best value pick of the year.
Fantasy LVP of the Year
There are always a whole host of candidates here as well. This could include Deshaun Watson, Justin Fields, Kirk Cousins, CJ Stroud, Jonathon Brooks, Jamaal Williams, Zamir White, Trey Benson, Isiah Pacheco. Nick Chubb, Javonte Williams, Odell Beckham, Adonai Mitchell, Mike Williams, Curtis Samuel, Gabe Davis, Diontae Johnson, Amari Cooper, DeAndre Hopkins, Greg Dulcich, Dalton Schultz, Cole Kmet, Ja’Tavion Sanders, and Kyle Pitts just to name a few. I’m going to go with Travis Etienne, however. The Jaguars were a total mess and he was a big part it. After two straight 1,000-yard rushing seasons and following a year where he scored 12 touchdowns, Etienne posted just 558 rushing yards, 39 catches, 254 receiving yards, and just two touchdowns on just 3.7 yards per carry in fifteen games, making him unplayable. In fact, he didn’t score a single touchdown after week two, which is stunning. Few players lost dynasty value the way he did this season.
The Unbeatable Lineup of the Year
QB Lamar Jackson BAL = 4,172 passing yards, 915 rushing yards, 45 total touchdowns, four (!) interceptions
RB Saquon Barkley PHI = 2,005 rushing yards, 33 catches, 278 receiving yards, 15 touchdowns

RB Jonathon Brooks CAR = 22 rushing yards, three catches, 23 receiving yards, another torn ACL
RB Zamir White LV = 183 rushing yards, six catches, 30 receiving yards, one touchdown
RB Isiah Pacheco KC = 310 rushing yards, 12 catches, 79 receiving yards, one touchdown

Gut Checks
I’d be worried if I underestimated Lamar Jackson this season.
I’d be worried if I wasn’t surprised at what Jahmyr Gibbs did in a committee for most of the season. Amazing.
I’d be worried if I missed out on the brief window to buy on Bijan Robinson.
I’d be worried if I thought I couldn’t build my dynasty team around Jared Goff.
I’d be worried if I was somehow down on Patrick Mahomes. He still has it, just doesn’t need it. Things change quickly, though.
I’d be worried if I missed on on Saquon Barkley this off-season.
I’d be worried if I thought Jordan Addison wasn’t pretty special, too.
I’d be worried if I ignored a decent season from Aaron Jones.
I’d be worried if I wasn’t really impressed with Josh Allen this season.
I’d be worried if I thought Derrick Henry was going to all of a sudden regress next season.
I’d be worried if I invested too heavily in Jonathon Brooks.
I’d be worried if I missed out on Jayden Daniels. Wow.
I’d be worried if I didn’t think this was the fantasy floor for Justin Herbert.
I’d be worried if I wasn’t pretty excited about the comeback from JK Dobbins.
I’d be worried if I wasn’t worried about Christian Watson.
I’d be worried if I thought Mike Evans couldn’t do it again.
I’d be worried if I didn’t notice the regression from Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp.
I’d be worried if I had Tank Dell and Stefon Diggs.
I’d be worried if I thought Russell Wilson hadn’t earned himself a starting job next season.
Same with Sam Darnold.
I’d be worried if I thought Bo Nix was just going to stay a QB2. He’s legit.
I’d be worried if I thought the Seahawks running backs were anything but off-season bargains.
I’d be worried if I thought the Bengals running back situation was solved.
I’d be worried if I wasn’t excited about Drake London‘s prospects next season. He and Penix have chemistry.
I’d be worried if I was building around Anthony Richardson.
I’d be worried if I thought the Tyreek Hill situation is over.
I’d be worried if I invested too much in Trey Benson.
I’d be worried if I wasn’t impressed with Rico Dowdle.
I’d be worried if I thought Christian McCaffrey wouldn’t have something to say about who wins a trophy next year.
I’d be worried if I was still holding out hope for Aaron Rodgers.
I’d be worried if I had Cole Kmet as my TE1.
I’d be worried if I wasn’t concerned about some regression from Alvin Kamara next season.
I’d be worried if I had Travis Etienne. Can’t do anything but hold now as his value has been destroyed.
I’d be worried if I wasn’t paying attention to some late season progress from Kayshon Boutte.
I’d be worried if I thought the Raiders running back for next season was currently on their roster.
I’d be worried if I thought Nick Chubb was going to just automatically bounce back next year.
I’d be worried if I thought Will Levis or Mason Rudolph were going to hold on to that job in Tennessee.
I’d be worried if I wasn’t concerned about the Giants finding a real long-term solution to help out Malik Nabers.
Final 2024 Dynasty Rookie Rankings
Always check our latest rankings to see the updates throughout the week. These rankings are simply my own.
1.) Brock Bowers, TE LV
Best tight end prospect since the position was invented.
2.) Malik Nabers, WR NYG
Monster season proves he’s a future star.
3.) Brian Thomas Jr, WR JAX
A healthy Lawrence with a new HC could be magic.
4.) Ladd McConkey WR LAC
He honestly belongs here. He’s a WR1 (the WR12) since week 11.
5.) Â Marvin Harrison Jr WR ARI
Good year for Harrison, but the three receivers on this list ahead of him have just honestly been better.
6.) Jayden Daniels, QB WAS
QB1 long-term. Could one day be THE QB1.
7.) Xavier Worthy, WR KC
Pushing Harrison and would honestly pass him in my mind with a big postseason.
8.) Bucky Irving, RB TB
I think he WILL take over in Tampa next season.
9.) Rome Odunze, WR CHI
I think he’s a buy low candidate, honestly.
10.) Caleb Williams, QB CHI
This week was a mess, but it doesn’t overshadow some good outings.
Initial 2025 Dynasty Rookie Rankings
Again. check our latest rankings throughout the off-season. These rankings are simply my own.
1.) Tetairoa McMillan, WR ARI
Not in the same class as Nabers, Harrison or Thomas, but solid.
2.) Ashton Jeanty, RB BSU
With running backs making a comeback, I could see this sticking.
3.) Kaleb Johnson, RB IOWA
Hard to argue against 1,500+ yards and 21 touchdowns on a team without a ton of other weapons.
4.) Isaiah Bond, WR TEX
Could be the next great Texas receiver.
5.) Luther Burden, WR MISS
Wanted to see a bigger season, but Bond, Burden, and Egbuka all seem to be jockeying for spots in the middle tier here.
6.) Emeka Egbuka, WR OSU
See above.
7.) Omarion Hampton, RB UNC
I’m not as high as others, but there’s time to get there.
8.) Quinshon Judkins, RB Ohio St
Interested to see if he’s a rare committee back in college and featured one in the NFL.
9.) Travis Hunter, WR/CB COLO
Toughest player to rank until he’s drafted and we see what’s going to happen.
10.) Elic Ayomanor, WR STAN
Not sure what to think of him after a “meh” season, but he seems to have a good pedigree.
