Isiah Pacheco News

  • Isiah Pacheco leads the way · Dec 5, 2022

Isiah Pacheco produced 66 yards and a touchdown across 14 carries in the Chiefs loss to the Bengals in week 13.

He also added two receptions for 16 yards. Since being named the starter, Pacheco has averaged nearly 17 carries per contest, producing 81 yards per game and scoring in back-to-back games. With Clyde Edwards-Helaire out of the equation for at least the next two weeks, and likely thereafter, the rookie should continue to factor as the Chiefs' carry-the-load option as he simply brings an additional level of dynamic not seen previously. Pacheco is found as a wide ranging RB45 on DLF running back rankings.

  • Isiah Pacheco could start · Oct 23, 2022

Chiefs rookie running back Isiah Pacheco may start in week seven

The report comes on the heels of reports that Pacheco took first-team reps in practice this week. Clearly Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who performed well out of the gate but has now cooled, isn't a favored option any longer while a true RBBC has formed. Pacheco has yet to see more than 17 snaps (week four) in any single game. He has a tough matchup vs. SF this week should he start and the Chiefs are likely just looking for additional dynamic but starting would be a big boost for the rookie's confidence and potential dynasty upside. It will be a story to revisit following the team's week seven tilt in the Bay.

  • Isiah Pacheco the RB3 · Sep 16, 2022

Isiah Pacheco was a distant third in snaps behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Jerick McKinnon again in Thursday night's win against the Chargers.

After logging 16 snaps in week one (23%), Pacheco had just five (9%) in week two. Even more notable was the fact week one was a Kansas City blowout. Meanwhile, Jerick McKinnon (54 snaps on the season) and Clyde Edwards-Helaire (52) are leading the charge and creating more of a two-person committee. While Pacheco remains a solid hold, it may take an injury to see him doing anything more than returning kicks.

  • Isiah Pacheco sees action · Aug 26, 2022

Chiefs rookie running back Isiah Pacheco rushed for 52 yards on 10 carries

Pacheco and Ronald Jones are seemingly locked into a battle for the RB3 role but played to a draw as the Chiefs preseason comes to a close. Pacheco looked good on Thursday but so did Jones, leaving only guesswork as to what the team will do as roster cutdown approaches. The rookie is certain to have locked up a roster spot due to his preseason performance but whether he plays only on special teams or sees time beyond remains to be seen. In any case, Isiah Pacheco's dynasty rise is real on the Chief's unsettled running back depth chart, potentially providing for impact as the regular season unfolds. He's listed as DLF's RB66.

  • Isiah Pacheco sees time · Aug 21, 2022

Chiefs rookie running back Isiah Pacheco saw time in the team's second preseason game but had only modest success

Pacheco rushed for eight yards on four carries, par for the course thus far for KC runners in 2022. He also converted on both targets for 16 yards. Pacheco continues to see a groundswell of dynasty support given recent camp reports and the growing potential that veteran back Ronald Jones fails to make the team. Now listed ahead of Jones as the team's RB3, there's little expectation for material production from the rookie in his first-year but as long as presumed starter Clyde Edwards-Helaire and the rest of the Chiefs' runners fail to impress, there's a chance the rookie sees time as a starter eventually. He's found as DLF's RB69 and remains an intriguing well-valued acquisition.

comment Early in the year, Pacheco looked like lightning in a bottle, explosive yet lacking the patience to carve out a significant role. In the second half of the season, he has shown more patience while also maintaining his aggressive style. I am not sold on Pacheco as the long-term starter, but he should have a quality role on the league's most stable offense.
