Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce isn't considering retirement quite yet.

Dynasty Analysis

Kelce went as far as to say he wouldn't consider retiring even if the Chiefs win their third Super Bowl in a row this weekend. Now 35, he may well go down as the greatest tight end in league history in the end, but that end isn't now. Dynasty managers should be excited to hear the news and while his 97/823/3 line isn't what they've come to expect, Kelce should still be a solid low-end TE1 next season.

More News

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is reportedly coming back for the 2025 season.

Dynasty Analysis

Pat McAfee is reporting this on his own, so it's far from official. However, it seems his "source" is none other than Kelce himself, who seemingly has a bad taste in his mouth after being blown out in the Super Bowl. Kelce is also apparently saying he's committed to being in the best shape of his life after a relatively unproductive season (by his standards) last year. His 97/823/3 line is far from his prime, but if Kelce does indeed come back, he'll do so as a low-end TE1 at the very least. Stay tuned.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had seven catches for 117 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs playoff win over the Texans.

Dynasty Analysis

Kelce now owns the NFL record for most 100-yard receiving games in the playoffs by any player, not just a tight end, breaking the mark set by Jerry Rice. It seems the Chiefs are just fine using him relatively modestly during the regular season, only to unleash him in the postseason at this point. While it's great for Kansas City, it has really affected his dynasty value over the past two years and made him more of a low-end TE1 than the elite difference maker he once was. If he continues playing after this season, that will likely continue.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had just two catches for eight yards in a loss against the Bills.

Dynasty Analysis

Yikes. Kelce had been white-hot over the past few weeks, but today was a massive letdown as the Bills made sure other players were going to beat them. After catching 32 passes over the past three weeks, Kelce came crashing down in this one. He'll still be a TE1 moving into next week, but this game reminded us there still is some volatility in his game. His dynasty value is likely about as stable as it gets for a veteran player.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had 14 catches for 100 yards in a win against Tampa Bay.

Dynasty Analysis

Kelce's 16 targets led the team. After a brutally slow start, Kelce has been Kelce lately with 43 targets and 37 catches over his last four games. While touchdowns have been tough to come by, it certainly looks like Kelce is going to post another 1,000 yard season if this pace keeps up. He's right back to elite TE1 status now that the Chiefs have seemingly recommitted to him instead of managing his workload.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had ten catches for 90 yards and one touchdown in a win against Las Vegas.

Dynasty Analysis

This was a major step in the right direction for Kelce, who hadn't scored a touchdown all season. His stat line today represented the most catches, targets, yards and touchdowns in a game this year and is hopefully a sign of things to come. Still, we'll need to see more to view Kelce as a truly elite TE1 again as his season has been a clunker thus far.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had seven catches for 89 yards in a win against the Chargers.

Dynasty Analysis

Kelce had been famously quiet over the first three weeks but Kansas City got him much more involved today. Unfortunately for the Chiefs (but fortunately for dynasty managers), Kelce is likely going to be much more of a necessity than a luxury moving forward if Rashee Rice has indeed suffered a season-ending injury. Kelce remains a solid option and possible buy low candidate for contending teams.
