Dynasty Rankings Explained is back! In this series DLF rankers explain their dynasty fantasy football rankings, including 2025 rookie draft pick selections so you can see how we each value those dynasty rookie picks compared to players as if it were a dynasty fantasy football startup draft. As expected, you will find a great degree of variability in the valuation of these picks as well depending on the style of the ranker. Each draft class has its own quality and depth and, depending on how the ranker values that quality and depth, individual rookie selections will appear earlier or later on the list.
Be sure to catch all of the Dynasty Fantasy Football Rankings Explained series.
DLF has always offered our readers multiple sets of dynasty fantasy football rankings from different experts to provide a broad view of player rankings. With many different strategies for building a successful dynasty team, no single set of rankings could possibly meet the needs of every manager. Instead, we've long subscribed to the idea of our experts providing their own individual rankings, ultimately giving our readers the opportunity to gravitate to a particular expert who closely matches their own style of ranking or, perhaps instead, choosing to use an average ranking across all experts.
A note about the tables. The Rank column indicates this ranker's personal rankings. The AVG column indicates the consensus rankings value at the time these rankings were created. The "+/-" column indicates how much higher or lower the ranker is to the consensus average. We'll go 120 players and picks deep, so for a deeper list of rankings, please visit our consensus dynasty fantasy football rankings.
Rankings are a valuable tool for identifying undervalued and overvalued players, serving as a guide for your decision-making. However, it's important to remember that these rankings reflect my personal opinion and shouldn’t be treated as absolute truth. Any moves you make should generally align with market value to provide a safety net in case these takes prove incorrect.
My approach to rankings differs from most. As I discussed in my previous article, I believe talent should be the primary factor in evaluating dynasty players. That said, I did incorporate some situational factors, as a player's environment can still significantly influence their future performance.
Rank | AVG | + / - | Name | Pos | Team | Age |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 1 | 0 | Ja'Marr Chase | WR | CIN | 25 |
2 | 2 | 0 | Justin Jefferson | WR | MIN | 25 |
3 | 4 | 1 | Malik Nabers | WR | NYG | 21 |
4 | 8 | 4 | Brian Thomas | WR | JAC | 22 |
5 | 3 | -2 | CeeDee Lamb | WR | DAL | 25 |
6 | 6 | 0 | Nico Collins | WR | HOU | 25 |
7 | 7 | 0 | Puka Nacua | WR | LAR | 23 |
8 | 5 | -3 | Amon-Ra St. Brown | WR | DET | 25 |
9 | 10 | 1 | Jahmyr Gibbs | RB | DET | 22 |
10 | 9 | -1 | Bijan Robinson | RB | ATL | 23 |
11 | 2025 Rookie 1.01 | |||||
12 | 12 | 0 | Drake London | WR | ATL | 23 |
13 | 19 | 6 | Jaxon Smith-Njigba | WR | SEA | 23 |
14 | 13 | -1 | Brock Bowers | TE | LV | 22 |
15 | 22 | 7 | Ladd McConkey | WR | LAC | 23 |
16 | 11 | -5 | AJ Brown | WR | PHI | 27 |
17 | 16 | -1 | Saquon Barkley | RB | PHI | 28 |
18 | 15 | -3 | Garrett Wilson | WR | NYJ | 24 |
19 | 2025 Rookie 1.02 | |||||
20 | 17 | -3 | Rashee Rice | WR | KC | 24 |
21 | 26 | 5 | Rome Odunze | WR | CHI | 22 |
22 | 25 | 3 | Josh Allen | QB | BUF | 28 |
23 | 24 | 1 | Lamar Jackson | QB | BAL | 28 |
24 | 23 | -1 | Trey McBride | TE | ARI | 25 |
In my opinion, the top eight wide receivers form a single tier, all of them are extremely talented and young. While some may argue for players like Drake London, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, or Ladd McConkey to be included in this group, I personally don’t see them at that level just yet.
One player I’m especially high on is Brian Thomas, who I have ranked a few spots ahead of consensus. This ranking is based on his elite rookie production and a significant upgrade at offensive coordinator. He has the talent to be a top-tier receiver and will be playing in a scheme similar to the one that propelled Chris Godwin to top-five fantasy production before his season-ending injury. New head coach Liam Coen even stated during combine interviews that they plan to run their passing offense through Thomas — which should set the stage for a massive 2025 season.
Another player I’m higher on than consensus is Ladd McConkey. He’s often labeled as a slot-only receiver, which I believe is driving his lower ranking. However, his rookie season metrics tell a different story—he not only excelled in the slot but also proved he can win against man coverage and make plays on the outside. Given his ability to thrive in multiple roles, I believe he’s being undervalued.
The 1.01 rookie pick is expected to be Ashton Jeanty, and I seriously considered ranking him above Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs. For now, I have him just below them, but that could change as we approach the NFL Draft. Robinson and Gibbs appear to be in somewhat fragile standing — if either underperforms, their value could dip, much like Breece Hall’s did last season. Meanwhile, Jeanty is in a position with stronger value insulation, making him an intriguing long-term asset.
