2024 Post-Scouting Combine Dynasty Rookie Ranking Tiers

Tim Riordan

With the NFL Scouting Combine in the rearview mirror, the dynasty off-season has officially kicked off. We know so much more about these prospects right now than we did in mid-February. While many of the high-end prospects didn't do much at the Combine, some sleepers have emerged from the week in Indianapolis, as have some major red flags.

And that is really where you win your rookie drafts: in the middle rounds. With first-round picks, a manager is hoping they don’t lose their draft. In the middle rounds is where the league-winning picks are made. Look at just one year ago, Puka Nacua and Tank Dell were both nowhere near the first round. Their buzz grew in the pre-draft process and the NFL Combine. Sharp dynasty managers targeted those players, and now they have some extremely high-end options from the middle rounds.

Rookie Ranking Tiers

Ranking tiers are important in any fantasy draft, but especially in dynasty rookie drafts. The game is all about maximizing the value of these picks and making the most of them. There is more trading in rookie drafts than there is in any other fantasy draft, so you need to know where the drop-offs are and when to jump on your favorite sleepers. Maybe you find yourself sitting right at the point of a major drop-off, and it’s time to start working on trade offers to move up. Maybe you hold the last pick in a certain tier, and you know your fellow managers will be desperate to move up into that tier once you’re on the clock.

The 2024 Dynasty Rookie Draft

One-quarterback drafts this year are going to be all about the wide receivers. There are so many who have a chance to be top 100 picks in the NFL Draft and, therefore, be important pieces on their NFL teams. In mock drafts I’ve done, I’ve been able to find wide receivers I am truly so excited to draft even in the third rounds.

With so many wide receivers to choose from, the art of this year’s draft is going to be when and how often to mix in the quarterbacks, running backs and tight ends. It’s a great draft for quarterbacks too, but their value takes a dip in 1QB. Brock Bowers is a household name, but the TE tier drop after him looms large. The running backs are interesting, but aren’t expected to have high draft capital and, therefore, are pushed down the boards in rookie drafts. Tiered drafting may be more important this year than ever thanks to the disparity between the individual positions.

Without further ado, here are the DLF Dynasty Rookie Rankings broken up into tiers.
