The Vikings have signed quarterback Daniel Jones.
The signing makes sense after Jones said he was looking to sign with a contender and not necessarily need a starting job. It's a solid signing for the Vikings, who have Sam Darnold at the helm but little behind him with JJ McCarthy out for the season. If Darnold was to get hurt, Jones would immediately become dynasty relevant again considering his supporting cast. This move is likely a temporary one and won't stop his dynasty value plunge, however.

The New York Giants have released quarterback Daniel Jones.
Well, that'll do it. Jones made a well-received statement yesterday about his time with the Giants, expressing gratitude for the opportunity. He also made it clear he was excited about the next chapter. The Giants were expected to release him in the off-season, but with a contract that nobody would trade for, they decided to just grant him his release now. He'll inevitably clear waivers this week, then be free to sign with any team. Expect him to do that to cover for a team having quarterback issues or needing a veteran backup for the rest of the season. The Raiders, Jaguars, and Cowboys could all have some level of interest if they truly have any desire to compete this season.

The Giants are planning on benching Daniel Jones in favor of Tommy DeVito.
This has been likely in the works for the better part of a week, but now it looks like it's becoming official. Jones has failed to live up to expectations and the Giants would be on the hook for a massive amount of salary should he be injured this season. New York knows they have a worse chance of winning with DeVito, but the idea of paying Jones for another year is just simply seen as a worse option. He's certainly taken his last snap as a Giant and will be looking for a new team next season. The Giants are now squarely in the mix to take a quarterback in this year's NFL Draft. Jones' dynasty value is going to sink even further this morning.

Giants quarterback Daniel Jones completed 22-of-37 passes for 190 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in a loss against Carolina.
Jones not only missed open receivers, he flat-out failed to even throw to them at times. After the game, the Giants went on record saying they were evaluating the position. With Jones looking this bad against one of the league's worst defenses and the Giants sitting at 2-8, it would be no surprise to see Drew Lock under center here soon. With just eight touchdowns and seven interceptions on the year, the Jones era in New York is surely coming to an end and the Giants may very well be players in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Giants quarterback Daniel Jones completed 14-of-21 passes for 99 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in a loss to the Eagles.
Jones was replaced late by Drew Lock, but the game was clearly out of hand, so it's hard to say if that change was performance related or if the Giants just stopped running him out there as a human sacrifice to an Eagles defense that had eight sacks on the day. With the Giants at 2-5, it's fair to wonder if we'll see Jones under center next week against Pittsburgh. His dynasty value is reaching near zero.

Giants quarterback Daniel Jones completed just 22-of-42 passes for 186 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in the season opener.
Jones "added" 15 yards on the ground. In short, Jones did nothing to stop the controversy surrounding the Giants needing to draft a quarterback in last year's NFL Draft, which they failed to do. Even worse, one of his interceptions was returned for a touchdown and his receivers did little to get open for him. It's only one week, but we're at DEFCON1 in terms of Jones' dynasty value.

Giants quarterback Daniel Jones completed 11-of-18 passes for 138 yards with two interceptions in the Giants preseason loss to Houston.
Ouch. Jones was seeing his first action since tearing his ACL last season and this wasn't pretty as one of the interceptions resulted in a pick-six. Jones was fortunate to see the Giants pass on quarterbacks in the 2023 NFL Draft but he's going to need to play much better quickly to retain his job beyond the first part of this season and certainly for anything beyond that.
