The 49ers believe wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk tore his ACL in the loss to the Chiefs.
Brutal. Aiyuk had a ridiculously long holdout, only to finally get his big money contract. After a few up and down weeks, this happens. We'll wait to get an official diagnosis, but it's rare for a team to come out and say they believe a player has torn an ACL only to find out they're wrong. If this is indeed the case, dynasty managers will have to look elsewhere for a WR2 the rest of the way. Stay tuned.

49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk had two catches for 37 yards in San Francisco's win against Seattle Thursday night.
Aiyuk has had one strange season. After a long and frustrating holdout that culminated in a big contract, Aiyuk has one game with eight catches and 147 yards and the other four combining for just 15 catches and 204 total receiving yards. He's also failed to score a single touchdown all season. Aiyuk has been historically streaky, but this run has been a surprise considering the team's financial commitment to him and steady quarterback play. If you believe in him, this could be a time to buy in dynasty leagues.

49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk had eight catches for 147 yards in a loss against the Cardinals.
The 49ers were stunned at home against Arizona, but it's hard to blame Aiyuk, who had his best game of the year. After only posting 167 receiving yards the first four weeks, this was a huge bounce-back performance for the now very highly paid Aiyuk. He'll remain on the WR2 bubble moving forward but this was a huge step in the right direction for Aiyuk, whose dynasty "buy low" window may have closed.

The 49ers have signed wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk to a contract extension.
Well, that was painful, Aiyuk's contract status has been the source of more ups and downs than a roller coaster at Knott's Berry Farm but he ends up staying with San Francisco and gets a four-year, $120 million contract extension that will keep him under team control through 2028. It's another massive deal for the 49ers, who now have a whopping eight players making more than $15 per season and one quarterback who is going to be in need for his own extension in a couple of years. Aiyuk should provide low-end WR1 or high-end WR2 as he attempts to build on his 75/1,342/7 breakout last season.

The 49ers have granted wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk permission to negotiate a contract with other teams.
It seems the 49ers are finally going to bite the bullet and deal the star receiver at some point here soon. Unable to reach an agreement on a long-term deal, it seems San Francisco is ready to move on find him a new home rather than deal with the distraction any longer. Aiyuk is reportedly garnering interest from New England, Cleveland and Pittsburgh at minimum with more teams likely in the mix. Stay tuned.

It seems Aiyuk not only wants more money but values what he has as well. Not reporting to camp would have resulted in fines and Aiyuk isn't interested in paying them. The situation is still in flux and something is going to need to give. However, it looks like Aiyuk will be a distraction in person rather than on social media for the time being. He remains a hold in dynasty leagues.

This saga continues to have more twists and turns than a summer ice cream cone. In the end, this much is cleawr - Aiyuk wants his money and doesn't care who gives it to hijm. Under contract for 2024, this is going to put San Francisco in a tight spot. They clearly don't have the salary cap room to accommodate Aiyuk but also won't just give away a player they still have under contract. In short, this is a mess. All dynasty managers can really do is wait and see what happens as Aiyuk's dynasty value is in total flux.

Aiyuk posted a cryptic message including him reviewing Washington Commanders game film so the Internet expectedly lost its mind. Rumors will swirl constantly until Aiyuk is either traded or signs a new long-term deal with San Francisco, so this is likely much ado about nothing. Still, Aiyuk remains in a dynasty hold pattern as nobody seems to truly know what's going to happen here.

49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has expressed an interest in staying with San Francisco.
The fact Aiyuk wants a new contract is the worst kept secret in the league. The 49ers were unable to trade Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel during the draft and are caught in a salary cap nightmare as they simply can't pay everyone on their offense, especially with Brock Purdy eventually needing a new (and hefty) contract in the near future. Aiyuk wants to stay but also wants his money. There really isn't a clear indication of what's going to happen, so dynasty managers need to treat him as a "hold" right now. His value could easily go up or down based on a resolution this Summer.
