The New England Patriots are trading quarterback Mac Jones to Jacksonville.
The Patriots moving on from Jones was seemingly inevitable and now it becomes official, This is a classic trade where it's better in NFL terms than it is in fantasy. Jones will compete with CJ Beathard to back up Trevor Lawrence but it's going to take another Lawrence injury for Jones to have any chance at seeing the field. The compensation was reportedly only a sixth round pick so it's not even out of the question Beathard beats him out for a roster spot this Fall. Regardless, the demise of Jones' dynasty value is now complete and he's a tough hold on a dynasty roster.

Patriots quarterback Mac Jones threw for 89 yards with two interceptions in a loss against the Giants.
Jones was benched for Bailey Zappe after his last interception. At this point, Jones looks like he's lost confidence and it would be a surprise to see the Patriots turn to him again this season, though Zappe didn't look like much of an upgrade on the day. The Patriots are 2-9 on the year and in line for a top pick in the upcoming draft, meaning Jones' days could be numbered. His dynasty value is on life support and he'll see a lot of waiver wires this week.

The Patriots benched Mac Jones late in a loss to the Colts.
Jones was replaced by Bailey Zappe for the final drive with the Patriots only down by four. It was a sudden changing of the guard but came after Jones threw one of the worst interceptions you can imagine in the red zone. The Patriots haven't named a starter for their next game but it's hard to see Jones recovering from this and at 2-8, New England is bound to start grasping at straws anyway. Jones is going to see his dynasty value plummet yet again.

Mac Jones played well in week seven, throwing for 272 yards and two touchdowns in a surprising victory over the Bills.
Jones silenced his critics, if only for a week, with his performance. It's hard to imagine a single game will make all the difference in his long term status under-center, but it's a start. With news that Bill Belichick signed a lucrative long-term extension, Jones will clearly have to win the head coach over if he expects to remain the starter. The team faces a tough matchup in week eight when the Patriots travel to Miami for a tilt versus the Dolphins, but then face more palatable competition in games against the Commanders, Colts and Giants. Mac Jones is found as DLF's QB26 and remains an uninspiring option.
