Jaylen Warren isn't expected to supplant Najee Harris as the starter
One particular writer suggested Warren could be the starter for the Steelers by the end of the season, but got pushback from Dale Lolley from Steelers.com who said it "is simply not true." Both backs are expected to have good roles in the offense but Harris remains a well-sized starter who has been effective and durable. Warren, for his part, averaged a full yard more than Harris as a runner but did so as a backup. Anything could happen in today's NFL related to running backs and Warren has been productive in his lesser role. It's not out of the question he's able to parlay that role into a bigger one with greater production. Warren is listed as DLF's RB51 and turns 25 early in November.

Steelers running back Jaylen Warren had a 62-yard touchdown on his lone carry in the Steelers second preseason game.
At this point, it's going to be very difficult for Pittsburgh to keep Warren off the field as he's consistently shown an explosiveness we just haven't seen from Najee Harris. While still the clear RB2 for the Steelers, Harris is looking far from a true bell cow option. This is looking like a make or break season for Harris as Warren looks poised for a breakout should he ever get a true opportunity. Warren's ranking of RB51 is looking like a relative bargain at the moment.

Jaylen Warren has been standing out in spring practices and looks bigger.
Warren says he isn't bigger but as the writer said: "It doesn’t matter, because there is no way offensive coordinator Matt Canada can keep him off the field as much as he did last season." Najee Harris remains, concretely, the team's lead back but Warren is going to have a significant role as the down-and-distance back while perhaps sprinkling in other packages as well. Backup running backs are notoriously difficult to project but Warren's role when combined with his DLF RB53 ranking does provide some allure in later rounds of dynasty start-up drafts.
