Fantasy Stat Pack: Week 11

Ryan McDowell

If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve probably noticed a series of tweets I share on a weekly basis regarding player and team defensive performances, all from a fantasy lens. I’m going to be sharing some of that same information with you here.

I use this each week as I am making my own lineup and waiver wire decisions and thought you might find this valuable as well.

Note: The scoring system used for this data is always PPR with four points for passing touchdowns.

All year to date fantasy ranks are based on total points.

Quarterbacks

Week 11 QB1s (top 12 scorers)

Rank Player
QB1 Deshaun Watson, HOU
QB2 Justin Herbert, LAC
QB3 Taysom Hill, NO
QB4 Jared Goff, LAR
QB5 Kirk Cousins, MIN
QB6 Ryan Tannehill, TEN
QB7 Aaron Rodgers, BG
QB8 Derek Carr, LV
QB9 Patrick Mahomes, KC
QB10 Philip Rivers, IND
QB11 Kyler Murray, ARI
QB12 Russell Wilson, SEA

Some of the game’s top signal-callers turned in ho-hum performances, allowing some surprises inside the top-five. The biggest story of the week, for fantasy players at least, was the performance of Taysom Hill, who scored twice and threw the ball better than most expected in the Saints’ win.

Year to Date QB1s

Rank Player
QB1 Kyler Murray, ARI
QB2 Patrick Mahomes, KC
QB3 Russell Wilson, SEA
QB4 Josh Allen, BUF
QB5 Aaron Rodgers, GB
QB6 Deshaun Watson, HOU
QB7 Justin Herbert, LAC
QB8 Tom Brady, TB
QB9 Ryan Tannehill, TEN
QB10 Lamar Jackson, BAL
QB11 Ben Roethlisberger, PIT
QB12 Teddy Bridgewater, CAR

On his bye, Josh Allen fell two spots while the injury to Teddy Bridgewater also pushed him down a pair of places. Ryan Tannehill’s impressive game against the Ravens moved him up to the QB9 on the season. Although Kyler Murray endured his worst game of the season, he remains the QB1 on the season.

The Falcons and Seahawks remain the two worst defenses against the quarterback position, allowing seven QB1 games each this year. The week, Derek Carr and the Raiders visit Atlanta while Seattle might help Carson Wentz break out of his slump.

The Steelers still haven’t allowed a QB1 game all year and that does not bode well for Lamar Jackson in the game that has been moved to Sunday. The Bears (vs. Aaron Rodgers), Texans (vs. Matthew Stafford) and 49ers (vs. Nick Mullens) have also been tough against opposing quarterbacks.

Running Backs

Week RB1s (top 12 scorers)

Rank Player
RB1 Dalvin Cook, MIN
RB2 Clyde Edwards-Helaire, KC
RB3 Derrick Henry, TEN
RB4 Ezekiel Elliott, DAL
RB5 JK Dobbins, BAL
RB6 Melvin Gordon, DEN
RB7 Carlos Hyde, SEA
RB8 Antonio Gibson, WAS
RB9 Aaron Jones, GB
RB10 Kenyan Drake, ARI
RB11 Mike Davis, CAR
RB12 Jonathan Taylor, IND

Week 11 was another dominating performance by Dalvin Cook but the story of this group might be the rookies. Clyde Edwards-Helaire enjoyed his best fantasy performance of the season, while Antonio Gibson had another top-ten performance, his third in four games. JK Dobbins and Jonathan Taylor also finally posted numbers that fantasy players have been expecting all season.

Year to Date RB1s

Rank Player
RB1 Alvin Kamara, NO
RB2 Dalvin Cook, MIN
RB3 Derrick Henry, TEN
RB4 James Robinson, JAX
RB5 Josh Jacobs, LV
RB6 Ezekiel Elliott, DAL
RB7 Aaron Jones, GB
RB8 Mike Davis, CAR
RB9 Kareem Hunt, CLE
RB10 Clyde Edwards-Helaire, KC
RB11 Antonio Gibson, WAS
RB12 Ronald Jones, TB

With Christian McCaffrey still out of the lineup, Carolina’s Mike Davis climbed a pair of spots on the season-long scorers, while a quiet game from Ronald Jones dropped him from RB9 to RB12. Edwards-Helaire moved into the RB1 range, replacing veteran Todd Gurley.

2 IND, LAR, NE
1 CHI, PIT
0 NO

The Broncos, Lions and Packers have each allowed eight RB1 games this year. Alvin Kamara must be drooling at the chance to face Denver, while Duke Johnson remains the Texans starter and David Montgomery is expected back in the lineup against the Packers.

The Saints are perfect on the year when it comes to allowing RB1 games, and it will be up to Melvin Gordon to try to ruin that this week. The Bears and Steelers also pose a major challenge for opposing running backs, which does not bode well for Aaron Jones and Gus Edwards, who will fill in for JK Dobbins and Mark Ingram.

Wide Receivers

Week 11 WR1s (top 12 scorers)

Rank Player
WR1 Keenan Allen, LAC
WR2 Adam Thielen, MIN
WR3 Robert Woods, LAR
WR4 Tyreek Hill, KC
WR5 Damiere Byrd, NE
WR6 Cooper Kupp, LAR
WR7 Davante Adams, GB
WR8 Diontae Johnson, PIT
WR9 DJ Moore, CAR
WR10 Tyler Lockett, SEA
WR11 Curtis Samuel, CAR
WR12 Nelson Agholor, LV

Keenan Allen has become one of the most dominant wideouts in the game and the obvious relationship he has with his rookie quarterback should keep him on this weekly list moving forward. Curtis Samuel and Nelson Agholor stayed hot with WR1 finishes and both Rams wideouts, Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp, showed up against the normally tough Buccaneers defense.

WR6 DK Metcalf, SEA
WR7 DeAndre Hopkins, ARI
WR8 Adam Thielen, MIN
WR9 Terry McLaurin, WAS
WR10 Robert Woods, LAR
WR11 Tyler Boyd, CIN
WR12 Calvin Ridley, ATL

As close as the top-12 receivers have been all season, each week brings plenty of movement. Keenan Allen moved from WR7 up to WR3, while Stefon Diggs dropped from the top spot to WR5 thanks to his bye week. Allen Robinson and Robby Anderson dropped out of the list, replaced by Robert Woods and Tyler Boyd.

Although Seattle has been better lately against the pass, those ten WR1 games still stand out. This week, they face the Eagles as Carson Wentz and company try to turn things around. This could be good news for Jalen Reagor and Travis Fulgham.

The Rams have not allowed a single WR1 game all year and with rookie Brandon Aiyuk on the COVID-19 list, I’m not sure the Niners have a player to break that streak.

Tight Ends

Week 11 TE1s (top 12 scorers)

Rank Player
TE1 Travis Kelce, KC
TE2 Darren Waller, LV
TE3 Mark Andrews, BAL
TE4 Dallas Goedert, PHI
TE5 Robert Tonyan, GB
TE6 Hunter Henry, LAC
TE7 Eric Ebron, PIT
TE8 Jordan Akins, HOU
TE9 Richard Rodgers, PHI
TE10 Dalton Schultz, DAL
TE11 Jonnu Smith, TEN
TE12 Chris Herndon, NYJ

Both Mark Andrews and Dallas Goedert broke out of recent slumps to finish among the top-four scorers for the week, finally rewarding patient dynasty players. As it often is, the TE1 list includes some surprises, including Chris Herndon and Jordan Akins.

Year to Date TE1s

Rank Player

TE2 Darren Waller, LV

TE4 TJ Hockenson, DET

TE6 Robert Tonyan, GB
TE7 Hunter Henry, LAC
TE8 George Kittle, SF
TE9 Hayden Hurst, ATL
TE10 Dalton Schultz, DAL
TE11 Jimmy Graham, CHI
TE11 (tie) Noah Fant, DEN

The top two tight ends for the season seem fairly locked in with Travis Kelce and Darren Waller at the top. After that, it is mass chaos. Andrews moved back up to the TE3 spot. Robert Tonyan and Hunter Henry moved up the list, while Hayden Hurst and Jimmy Graham lost traction on the top-12 list. Dalton Schultz and Noah Fant moved into the TE1 range, replacing Rob Gronkowski and Evan Engram.

The Chargers have emerged as the most tight-end-friendly defense in the league and this week, they face the Bills. Second-year tight end Dawson Knox hasn’t found much success this season after a solid rookie year. Several teams have allowed six TE1 games, making for solid matchups for Darren Waller, Hunter Henry, Ian Thomas, Noah Fant and Travis Kelce.

The Cardinals, Dolphins and 49ers have each allowed just one TE1 game all season. This should at least give fantasy players second thoughts about using Rams tight ends Tyler Higbee and Gerald Everett.

Finally, here is the chart summarizing how teams have fared against each position. I’ve also included the schedule for this week for reference. (Editor’s note: BAL/PIT has since been rescheduled to Sunday.)
