Dynasty Fantasy Football 2025 NFL Draft: Veteran Winners and Losers from Day Two

Ken Kelly

Dynasty managers have been looking forward to this weekend for weeks, maybe even months. This year's second day featured some head-scratching picks and also featured a couple of names left on the board that we would have never thought possible. Let's take a look at some veteran winners and losers from day two.

Winners

CJ Stroud, QB HOU

The Texans went into the weekend looking to replace the departed Stefon Diggs and hoping to find help opposite Nico Collins while Tank Dell recovers from his injury as well, They did just that as they took not one, but both of the stud receivers from Iowa State, Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel. After adding Christian Kirk in the off-season, Stroud should be in position for a nice bounce-back despite the different looking depth chart the Texans now have.

Browns Quarterbacks

I know this may seem weird since the Browns took Dillon Gabriel in round three. However, taking a quarterback that late instead in round one or two indicates Cleveland views him more as a long-term project than a threat to the duo of Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco. The Browns have the luxury of seeing what they have with Gabriel this season while they possibly position themselves to strike gold next year. If Garbiel hits, that's great. However, Pickett and Flacco will more than likely compete for the starting job.

Mason Rudolph, QB PIT

Again, the Steelers either believe Aaron Rodgers is coming their way or they really believe they're fine with Rudolph. We'll find out soon enough but it's shocking we haven't seen them take a quarterback so far in the draft.

Caleb Williams, QB CHI

As if adding Colston Loveland wasn't enough, the Bears added Luther Burden to the mix. With DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, and now Burden, they're young and talented - this is how you build around a young quarterback in the NFL.

Veteran Running Backs

There were still a ton of veteran running backs who were holding on to their starting jobs by a thread. After two days, they're pretty safe. Sure, their team could take someone on the last day, but those players rarely come in and immediately start.   This list currently includes players like Travis EtienneTank Bigsby (Jaguars), Alvin Kamara (Saints), Javonte Williams / Miles Sanders (Dallas), Breece Hall (Jets), D’Andre Swift (Bears), James Conner (Cardinals), and Chase Brown (Bengals).  Each of these teams had been rumored to be interested in one of the premier runners in the draft and none were able to secure any of the top ones.

Losers

Jaylen Warren, RB PIT

As expected, we had a few victims at the position and Warren was one of them who was not so lucky. The Steelers added Kaleb Johnson and he should be an easy replacement for Najee Harris moving forward in what looks like a two-headed monster. You didn't think it was going to be THAT easy with Warren, did you?

Jaleel McLaughlin and Audric Estime, RBs DEN

The Broncos surprisingly took RJ Harvey in round two and he looks like a player who is going to get immediate attention in the backfield. In the end, this still looks like a bit of a committee, but Harvey is clearly the one to have on your dynasty roster and these two are going to be tough to trust on a weekly basis.
