LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas reportedly had some ups and downs at this year's NFL Draft Combine.
The former LSU wide receiver posted a 38.5-inch vertical and a very impressive 4.33 40, which obviously matches up with his explosiveness you see on tape. Unfortunately, he also had some some drops and struggled at times in various drills. Scouts are going to need to decide if he's a "one trick pony" or a truly versatile threat before deciding how much draft capital to use to secure his services. In the end, Thomas has enough on his resume to likely be a first round pick in dynasty leagues and in the NFL Draft, so dynasty managers shouldn't overreact to much of anything that transpired negatively this weeked.

LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. is selected by the Saints in Mel Kiper's initial mock draft.
This would likely be considered a "luxury" pick by the Saints, who already have an alpha receiver in the form of Chris Olave and a potential "up and comer" with Rashid Shaheed. Still, you can never have too many solid skill players and while Thomas has been overshadowed by LSU teammate Malik Nabers, there's a lot to like here. He seems destined to go in round one and could provide some immediate value if he's taken later in the round to a team with an established quarterback and culture. He seems like a player who should be taken in round one of most rookie drafts as he possesses a seemingly high ceiling.

In the latest ESPN Mock Draft, Brian Thomas Jr. was selected by the Chiefs with the 25th overall pick.
This draft is full of difference makers at the position and Thomas could still find his way into the first round, showing just how deep it is. He really came on in his Junior season as he completed a dominant trio with fellow receiver Malik Nabers and quarterback Jayden Daniels at LSU. His line on the year (68/1,177/17) is more than impressive in the always tough SEC and even though he's a bit of a one-hit wonder, Thomas could be a steal this year in the NFL Draft. His workouts are going to be supremely important if he's going to make it into the first round of rookie drafts but it certainly seems more than possible he does just that.
