Off-Season Mock Drafts: 1QB Rookie Draft
With the NFL Scouting Combine upon us, it's the most exciting time of the year! We are seeing rookie mock drafts kick off, rookie rankings start to emerge, and we are getting ready for the NFL draft; what's not to love? Last week, I looked at a superflex rookie mock draft, and this week I will break down a 1QB rookie mock. While last week's draft was predictable and chalky (mostly), this draft saw quite a few curve balls. I won't waste any more of your time here; let's get into the draft.
Round One
There was no shocker at the top with Ashton Jeanty at 1.01. Tetairoa McMillan and Luther Burden followed him to round out the top three, which has been pretty standard so far this off-season. Then, at 1.04, we've got an eye-opener: Shedeur Sanders. It is wild that he was the first quarterback selected. It was wild to see him go in the top four. I mean, if you're super quarterback-needy and the rest of your roster is rock solid, and you really think Sanders is going to be a bona fide star in the NFL (you're a sick individual), I guess I can see you wasting an early pick on him, but this was an awful pick.
