The New York Giants trade back into the first round to select Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart at No. 25.

Dynasty Analysis

Immediately after the pick, head coach Brian Daboll was quoted saying, "Russ will be our starter in the spring as they get started." Which is sort of like naming Wilson the starter, but we have a long way to go. In Dynasty value, Winston can be safely dropped in all but the very deepest of SuperFlex leagues, while Wilson's value will continue to stagnate in the QB32 range.

Giants Head Coach Brian Daboll is planning on having Russell Wilson be his opening day starter.

Dynasty Analysis

This is, of course, despite the fact the Giants moved up in the 2025 NFL Draft to select Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart in the first round. It all sounds great to have Dart sit behind Wilson and learn, but Daboll is also on one of the hottest seats in the NFL, so the leash on Wilson would be quite short. Regardless, Dart should find his way onto the field one way or another next year and it really looks like Wilson may need another trade at some point to get one last shot at sustained dynasty relevance. Wilson is a shaky hold in dynasty leagues.

The Giants have signed free agent quarterback Russell Wilson.

Dynasty Analysis

One of the last big quarterback dominoes has now fallen as Wilson has a new home. While he hasn't been able to produce near the magic he did in Seattle with Denver or Pittsburgh, he was more than competent last season with the Steelers, posting 2,482 passing yards with 16 touchdowns and just five interceptions. He'll give the Giants another veteran presence as he joins Jameis Winston on the depth chart. This move clearly won't step the Giants from drafting a rookie quarterback but also won't force their hand. Should Wilson enter the season as a starter, he'll be a decent QB2 for as long as he holds the job. He just isn't going to be a long-term answer anywhere at this point in his career, however.

The Browns are hosting quarterback Russell Wilson on a free agent visit.

Dynasty Analysis

Well, the plot thickens. Cleveland has a premium draft pick (#2 overall) and could use it on a signal caller this year. They also just traded for Kenny Pickett. Bringing in Wilson could indicate they really don't intend to have Pickett call the shots year and signing Wilson could indicate they're leaning away from taking Cam Ward or Sheduer Sanders at #2. After all, having a rookie and two veterans under contract doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. We'll see what materializes here but it's clear we have some raised eyebrows at the moment.

Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson completed 20-of-29 passes for 270 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in a playoff loss to Baltimore.

Dynasty Analysis

Wilson performed about as he has all season - fine. This is the problem for the Steelers, who now have the same problem they did after last season as they boast a talented team that needs an elite-level quarterback. Wilson just isn't that any longer and neither is Justin Fields. Problem is they are both free agents and likely not the answer next season. The challenge for the Steelers is they're not bad enough to draft anyone of note because their draft pick isn't good enough. However, getting quarterbacks off the scrap heap has only made them more of the same and good instead of great just won't cut it in the NFL. Wilson himself should land a starting job somewhere next season, but he's no lock to return to Steel City. He's a roster worthy QB2 but not much more than that in dynasty leagues.

Russell Wilson completed 17-of-31 passes for 148 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in a loss to the Bengals.

Dynasty Analysis

Wilson isn't what he used to be, but it's hard to look at him and say he was anything like he was in Denver (pretty bad) this season, either. He finishes the regular season with 2,482 passing yards, with 16 touchdowns and just five interceptions in 11 games. The Steelers will obviously be evaluating his play in the postseason, but it seems likely Wilson will be back in Pittsburgh next season on a team-friendly deal. Regardless, he's solidified his status as a decent QB2 in dynasty leagues moving forward.

Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson completed 29-of-38 passes for 414 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in a win against the Bengals.

Dynasty Analysis

Many thought Mike Tomlin was crazy for benching Justin Fields earlier this year, but it's clear he knows more about football than pretty much anyone else on the planet. This has looked like a master stroke as Wilson is now up to 1,626 passing yards and ten touchdowns (with just three interceptions) in just six games started. While still more of a QB2 in dynasty leagues. Wilson is proving he still has something left in the tank and his dynasty value is back on the rise.
