The New York Giants drafted LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The Giants reportedly flirted with many options in the draft (including maneuvering for a quarterback) but ended up grabbing Nabers with the sixth overall pick. It's hard to blame them as Nabers could honestly be the best receiver in this class. While Daniel Jones' health and overall play is still in question, Nabers should enter the season as the top pass catcher for the Giants and makes for an easy top-three pick in conventional dynasty rookie drafts this off-season.
Malik Nabers the WR1? · Mar 30, 2024
After an impressive Pro Day, some scouts believe Malik Nabers is the top receiver in this year's class.
Nabers' athleticism was on full display at the LSU Pro Day as he posted a 4.35 40-yard dash to go along with a 42-inch vertical leap. He was also more than impressive in each of the drills he participated in. It seems Nabers may be bridging the gap between his stock and that of Marvin Harrison Jr.'s, who chose not to work out publicly at all this off-season. While it's still hard to see Nabers really being taken ahead of Harrison, it clearly shows he's truly an elite-level prospect.

LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers is taken sixth overall by the Giants in the initial mock draft by Mel Kiper, Jr.
This pick could make some sense as the Giants are likely just outside the area needed to get one of the top three quarterbacks. New York has been looking for an alpha receiver since the departure of Odell Beckham and what they've tried since simply hasn't worked. If they decide to stick with Daniel Jones, this could make some sense. Nabers likely won't go ahead of Marvin Harrison Jr. but he's still an elite-level prospect who has the looks of a top-five dynasty rookie pick, regardless of format.

In the latest ESPN Mock Draft, Malik Nabers was selected by the Chargers with the fifth overall pick.
And now things get interesting. The Chargers are clearly looking beyond the era of Keenan Allen and Mike Williams and receiver could be an area of need. Still, they spent a first round pick just last year on Quentin Johnston and a new regime could find other areas of need to be more important. Nabers flourished with Jayden Daniels this year and posted a whopping 89 catches for 1,569 yards with 14 touchdowns - no small feat playing in the SEC. He's going to be in the mix with a number of receivers in the top five of conventional rookie drafts and a likely top-8 pick in Superflex drafts, though this landing spot may not be the best dynasty managers would hope for.
