2025 Dynasty Fantasy Football Rookie Profile: Tez Johnson, WR Oregon

Tez Johnson was one of the most productive college football players in the country over the last three seasons and is electrifying with the ball in his hands. However, he also has glaring physical limitations that could prevent him from becoming an every-down player at the NFL level. Will Johnson be able to play bigger than his frame and earn a sizeable role at the NFL level?

The Stats

Johnson’s story and path to the NFL have been well documented throughout his time as a college football player. There were challenges in his home life growing up and during high school, he was taken in by Bo Nix and his family to allow him to better focus on football and his grades. During his junior year, he caught 106 passes for 1,457 yards and 10 touchdowns and then followed that up with 62 catches for 1,140 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior. He was a three-star recruit and chose to continue his football career at Troy.

Johnson’s career started at Troy, but he didn’t get much playing time during his first season. However, over the next two years, he caught 123 passes for 1,598 yards and eight touchdowns. His 2022 season was incredible; he and Kimani Vidal were the engines of an offense that went 12-2, won the Sun Belt, and finished 19th overall in the final AP poll. During that 2022 season, Johnson earned a Pro Football Focus receiving grade of 90.5, which was the highest grade in the country - just edging out Puka Nacua and Marvin Harrison Jr for second and third.
