Saints quarterback Derek Carr is dealing with a significant shoulder injury.
Dynasty Analysis
The injury is reportedly significant enough to possibly require surgery and threatens his availability for the upcoming season. The Saints were supposedly looking at quarterbacks in this year's NFL Draft, but this sure did escalate quickly. With the veteran market drying up, New Orleans could be in some trouble. In regards to Carr, his dynasty value is starting to tumble as it seems he's no longer viewed as a long-term answer for the Saints and could even be damaged goods.

Saints quarterback Derek Carr completed 20-of-31 passes for 219 yards with one touchdown and one interception prior to likely fracturing his hand in a win against the Giants.

He also may have a concussion. The injury occurred on a play where Carr was giving maximum effort for extra yards but one that left him flying through mid-air and leaving himself vulnerable for a number of injuries. It's the latest frustrating injury for Carr, who has been able to play in just ten games this season, but fail to finish in a few of those as well. His dynasty value seems secure but that won't be the case should he be lost for the season.
Saints quarterback Derek Carr is set to return this week.
Dynasty Analysis
Carr will return to a Saints team suddenly reeling. After scoring 91 points in their first two games en route to a 2-0 record to start the year, the Saints have lost six in a row and face what might be a must-win this week against the Panthers. Carolina seems to cure a lot when teams face them, but it's the NFL and Carr will need to return to form quickly. His dynasty ADP dip should stop should he look like he did prior to his injury to start the year.
