Welcome to the Positional Buy Sell Hold series, where each week I’ll be focusing on one position to analyze four players and what we should be doing with them in dynasty. For this edition, we’re back to tight ends.
Coming off his breakout sophomore season in the NFL, Trey McBride had high expectations in 2024. He responded by blowing right past those expectations on his way to a top season. McBride finished 2024 with 15.2 PPR points per game - second among tight ends - while leading the Cardinals in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. Even with Marvin Harrison Jr in town, McBride was easily Arizona’s number one target. The Cardinals made little change to their offense this off-season. Will McBride repeat his stellar 2024 season in 2025 and beyond?
The Move – McBride is worth the cost. In 2024, McBride established himself as a major target earner and a fearsome threat after the catch. Along with Brock Bowers, he projects to give you a significant advantage at his position, not only for 2025 but for years to come. It won’t be cheap, but you should be buying McBride if you can. I’m willing to send away Bucky Irving, Tee Higgins, or add on to a first-round rookie pick to get him. That’s how good McBride is.
