The Bears have released running back Mike Davis.
Davis had been used sparingly behind David Montgomery and Tarik Cohen this season after being signed to a two-year, $6 million contract this off-season. This surprise release is reportedly so the Bears can get a compensatory pick in next year's draft. Davis' dynasty value was on life support, but this will actually help it as he should be claimed by a RB-needy team somewhere and have a chance at more meaningful playing time. There are worse pickups on your waiver wire at the moment. Teams like Detroit and Miami are sure to kick the tires here.
