The news couldn't be any better after it was obvious Mahomes had suffered a serious injury. Viewers could see his knee 'pop' back into place in the hands medical personnel. The injury occurred on a fourth and one play near the goal line and initially it seemed Mahomes had reinjured his ankle but it quickly worsened as the seconds ticked by. He was then seen being helped to the sideline before walking down the tunnel under his own power and was quickly ruled out by the team. It's a big blow to fantasy players leading up to the weeks just prior to fantasy playoffs but having him back in three weeks is far better than losing him for the year. On the positive side, the extra time should allow his ankle injury to make progress as well. He'll miss tilts vs. the Packers, Vikings and Titans in successive weeks and would face the Chargers in week 11 but with a bye in week 12, it's not out of the question the Chiefs will play it safe with their star and hold him out until week 13 rather than risk injury prior to the bye.
