Dynasty Fantasy Football Trading Post: Wide Receivers on the Move

The new NFL league year is upon us and players are on the move! This is a time in the off-season where going after some players you normally would wait on could pay off. Today we are going to use the DLF Trade Finder to find us some trades of wide receivers who have changed teams since the new league year and see if it makes sense to try and move them to your roster in your dynasty league. I will try and use trades that have multiple versions on the same theme so that it doesn’t feel like such a small sample size of one trade.
Davante Adams, WR LAR
12 team 1QB PPR start 8.
There were a few trades where Adams was being sent for a second-round pick or a player worth around the same price.
We have seen how Matthew Stafford can support multiple pass catchers, especially when one of those pass catchers is as good of a route runner as Davante Adams. I don’t think Adams will take too much away from Puka Nacua, but we have seen Nacua and Cooper Kupp produce at the same time, so no reason to believe that Nacua and Adams can’t do the same.
Deebo Samuel, WR WAS
10 team 1QB .5PPR start 8.
There were multiple trades of Samuel being traded for low-end RB2s with similar value and also for second-round rookie picks.
Deebo Samuel feels like a perfect fit in the Washington Commanders offense. So if you are telling me I can send a 30-year-old running back to get a strong part of this new and exciting offense I am all aboard. I do like that Jones re-signed with the Vikings and do believe he will be very helpful for your fantasy teams this season but even with only getting half a point per reception, I still like the move over to wide receiver.
Christian Kirk, WR HOU
12 team 1 QB PPR start 10.
There were multiple trades of Kirk for third-round rookie picks.
I know this one isn’t very exciting but in a 12-team league where you are starting 10+ players, you will have a need for strong WR3 types and Kirk fits that role perfectly. We saw a strong decline in the Texans’ passing game with both Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell injured. Diggs looks like he will be moving on to a new team and Dell may not play for the entire 2025 season, leaving only Nico Collins at wide receiver. Kirk will walk into very little competition for the wide receiver two role on the team. For a pick that would be hard to even describe as a dart throw (maybe a blindfolded dart throw) it feels like an easy move for competing teams to lock in that bye week/injury fill in.
Players moving to a new team comes with some risk but sometimes that risk is baked into their trade price. In some cases it might just be worth paying for the risk if you believe in the player and new situations pairing. I think these three players fit into both categories. The prices feel pretty low for the usefulness these players can show to their new teams. If I have a competing team then I am sending out offers for these players right away.
