1QB Dynasty Rankings Explained: Justin Taylor

Dynasty Rankings Explained is back! In this series DLF rankers explain their dynasty fantasy football rankings, including 2025 rookie draft pick selections so you can see how we each value those dynasty rookie picks compared to players as if it were a dynasty fantasy football startup draft. As expected, you will find a great degree of variability in the valuation of these picks as well depending on the style of the ranker. Each draft class has its own quality and depth and, depending on how the ranker values that quality and depth, individual rookie selections will appear earlier or later on the list.

DLF has always offered our readers multiple sets of dynasty fantasy football rankings from different experts to provide a broad view of player rankings. With many different strategies for building a successful dynasty team, no single set of rankings could possibly meet the needs of every manager. Instead, we've long subscribed to the idea of our experts providing their own individual rankings, ultimately giving our readers the opportunity to gravitate to a particular expert who closely matches their own style of ranking or, perhaps instead, choosing to use an average ranking across all experts.

A note about the tables. The Rank column indicates this ranker's personal rankings. The AVG column indicates the consensus rankings value at the time these rankings were created. The "+/-" column indicates how much higher or lower the ranker is to the consensus average. We'll go 120 players and picks deep, so for a deeper list of rankings, please visit our consensus dynasty fantasy football rankings.

1QB DYNASTY FANTASY FOOTBALL RANKINGS: JUSTIN TAYLOR

Dynasty rankings are always fluid. They are ever-changing, and sometimes even week-to-week the values can drastically deviate. Because of this, I am constantly tweaking my dynasty rankings. You need to pay attention to player news, injuries, trades, and a change in the depth chart. There is always something happening, but news needs to be evaluated to determine if it is something that will affect short-term value or long-term value.

The best times for evaluating player values are at the end of the previous season and going into the new season. Obviously, major news can cause you to make some adjustments during the season. The key is to see the value changes as early as possible in order to get maximum value.

When ranking players, I like to try to look at things in a two-to-three-year window. It is hard to predict with much accuracy what will happen much further than that down the road. You want to be winning titles as much as possible in your dynasty leagues, but you also have to be realistic about where your team currently stands. Are you competing or rebuilding? This will make a difference in how you evaluate certain players for your team.

You want to avoid all-in situations where you are buying only older players to win a championship or selling off all your team’s production in hopes of hitting the lottery with younger players in a couple of years. Having a good amount of veteran production and young upside players is ideal in dynasty leagues.

In 1QB Dynasty Leagues, I usually concentrate on young high-upside wide receivers that are already elite or can be very soon. Wide receivers tend to have longer careers than running backs in the NFL, so I want to make sure I have good production on the outside.
Have elite receivers at the top of my rankings with 11 of my top 12 players being receivers. A ton of young talent has flooded the league in the last couple of seasons.

In my top 12, only one player, Eagles’ receiver AJ Brown, is older than 25. I have three receivers from last year’s draft class making an early appearance led by the Giants’ Malik Nabers at number three on my list. He is followed by fellow soon-to-be-second-year players Brian Thomas Jr. of the Jaguars at number eight and Marvin Harrison Jr. of the Cardinals at number 10.

The only player from a different position group in the top 12 is Raiders’ tight end Brock Bowers. During his rookie season, Bowers broke nearly every tight end rookie receiving record.

He is my clear-cut top dynasty tight end and is worth a late first-round to early second-round start-up pick, especially in leagues with higher tight end premiums. To me, Bowers is more than just a tight end. He can do it all. He was third in the entire league with 112 receptions as a rookie and was one of only three tight ends with more than 1,000 yards receiving last season.

Running backs can drop in dynasty rankings, especially in start-up drafts, but I like to make sure I have at least one stud RB1 on my team to lean on.

I have four running backs ranked in a row with the Falcons’ Bijan Robinson at the top of the list followed by the Lions’ Jahmyr Gibbs. Both players are young and are on good offenses and know how to accentuate their individual abilities.

Third on the list is a pick not a player. I have 2025 pick 1.01 next on the list, though I think it should be a running back selected. Ashton Jeanty from Boise State is the clear top pick in the upcoming dynasty rookie drafts.

The Eagle’s Saquan Barkley and the Colts’ Jonathon Taylor are the “old veterans” here, but both players showed this past season that they still have plenty left in the tank. They can still be relied on to lead your fantasy backfield for the next couple of seasons.

Cardinals tight end Trey McBride had a breakout second season with more than 100 catches for over 1,000 yards. He slots in behind Bowers as a difference-maker at the position that I want on my team. He is my other tight end who makes the top 24.

I finished up the top 24 with the Steelers George Pickens and the Bengals Tee Higgins. Both are young, big, talented, receivers that have some of their best seasons ahead of them.

I also have 2025 pick 1.02 here. This could very well be another young running back, but for me, it should be Missouri receiver Luther Burden III. He is a player who can do it all and projects to have an even better career in the pros than he did in college.
