Dynasty Waiver Wire: Week 13

Hey, subscribe to the DLF YouTube channel! Thanks to all of you, we just surpassed 4,000 subscribers on Sunday! Now, we begin the path to 5,000! So if you are not subscribed and would like MORE FREE content from the DLF team, the YouTube channel is the way to go! I won’t stop promoting the channel in this introduction until we hit 5K, so either subscribe to help the cause or stop reading these introductions.

In case you are reading this, there is one bit of information to know before you start reading names. Just like last year’s series, we will be utilizing player rostership percentages, courtesy of dynasty rosters from SafeLeagues and the great Scott Fish. Using that data, I developed an app to view rostership data from over 600 SafeLeagues dynasty leagues, all using the same format and scoring (2 PPR tight end premium). While this may not be entirely accurate for every individual league, it is very reflective of how managers view who is worthy or not of a roster spot. Now that that is covered, let’s dive into the waiver wire after week 13!

Players to double-check availability and immediately add:

Rashaad Penny, RB SEA, Adrian Peterson, RB SEA and Rex Burkhead, RB HOU

I just decided to lump all three of these running backs together since they are all similar. Do they deserve to be on a roster? Probably, yes. Will they ever see your starting lineup? You better hope not. I think that is all that needs to be said here on these three.

Peyton Barber, RB LV and Jalen Richard, RB LV

The real pickups at running back this week are the duo of Raiders backups, who both now have an opportunity to fill in for Kenyan Drake after he was carted off the field. Both are worth adding, but I believe Richard would be the guy to take over Drake’s role, while Barber is more of Josh Jacobs’ backup. Jacobs was also questionable to play this week, so there may be an opportunity that both Richard and Barber are viable plays down the stretch, but I would prioritize Richard more as the pass-catcher.

KJ Osborn, WR MIN

It’s likely that Osborn is already rostered in your league, as he is sitting at nearly 90% rostership. If he is not, however, definitely bid a good amount of your remaining FAAB at him when we hear more news on Adam Thielen’s ankle injury. If Thielen were to miss any games, Osborn would have a nice boost in targets as the WR2 on the Vikings, making the most of that opportunity this week with a 4-47-1 stat line on seven targets.

Zay Jones, WR LV

Speaking on another receiver with good opportunity as a team WR2, I listed Zay Jones last week as a player to keep your eye on after seven targets last week. This week, Jones saw the third-most targets on the Raiders behind Hunter Renfrow and Josh Jacobs, although he only finished with three receptions and 21 yards. The Raiders will continue to be in potential high throwing games to close the season, playing Kansas City, Cleveland, Denver, Indianapolis, and the Chargers. Pair that with Darren Waller’s continued absence, and you have a decent streaming receiver as depth in case of injuries or COVID throughout the fantasy playoffs.

Ricky Seals-Jones, TE WAS

I was very surprised to see RSJ sitting below 60% rostership considering how well he performed in Logan Thomas’ absence (I guess people are more apt to drop backup tight ends than other positions). Anyways, RSJ will slide right back into Washington’s TE1 role after Thomas suffered a knee injury and did not return against the Raiders. RSJ himself has been injured for several weeks, but was expected to return this week after limited practice work before being inactive. If Thomas is done for the season, RSJ could be a huge boost for any playoff team at the tight end position off the wire.
