A combination of increased two tight-end personnel sets and selection of Jordan Addison in could send K.J. Osborne to the bench
In this scenario, Osborne would still function as the team's WR3. It reads far more as speculation than prediction though it's not out of the realm of possibility. Osborne is entering his fourth season though only has two years of production and remains a viable receiver for the Vikings after his 2022 60/650/5 stat line. The departure of Adam Thielen this offseason leaves a gaping hole to be filled and some are speculating that it's Addison best positioned to do so, but, as a rookie he has his work cut out for him. Osborne remains a crafty receiver and as DLF's WR81, has the inside track toward remaining the starter. Whether he can retain the role will play out in training camp.

The Minnesota Vikings drafted wide receiver Jordan Addison in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Osborn has long been a favorite in the dynasty community and was in line for a monster breakout season until this happened. While he still has sleepy good value in dynasty leagues, the drafting of Addison clouds his future. If the Vikings believe Addison is the best fit across from Justin Jefferson and make Osborn their third receiver (and likely fourth option behind TJ Hockenson as well), he's going to have a tough time reaching his potential. Osborn comes in as our WR71, a ranking that likely won't go much until we see how things shake out in the preseason.

With the release of Adam Thielen, K.J. Osborn is now the starter across from Justin Jefferson
It could be temporary as free agency is set to begin shortly though Osborn has been a material producer in his two years since being a fifth-round selection in 2020. Osborn turns 26 in June and could be in line for a big increase in 2023 after producing a 60/650/5 line in what is considered a weak wide receiver free agent pool. That said, other names such as DeAndre Hopkins and Brandin Cooks are on the trade block and could be in play. In either case, Osborn, as DLF's WR72 is an intriguing buy-low candidate for enterprising dynasty coaches willing to acquire into the news. The stars are aligning for what could be a big year in the upside offside as he's also a free agent in 2024.
