2024 Dynasty Fantasy Football Rookie Profile: Ja’Tavion Sanders, TE Texas

Peter Lawrence

The tight end position has become the cool guy position in fantasy circles. With Sam LaPorta coming out last season and taking the league by storm, he has vaulted in dynasty rankings and ADP. Just a short time ago the fantasy echo chamber was telling you to take Kyle Pitts with the 1.01 in your dynasty startup drafts. Even Trey McBride is vaulting up in discussions as an early first or second-round startup pick.

The TE position can be a wasteland and having a LaPorta in 2023 or the last few years of Travis Kelce can be a league-winning advantage when your opponent is forced to stream or is rolling out Noah Fant in the hope of hitting gold.

Texas receivers Xavier Worthy and Adonai Mitchell might be all the talk of rookie drafts, but they were not what kept the Longhorns offense rolling in the college playoffs. Ja'Tavion Sanders might not have that Brock Bowers hype and pedigree but there is a lot to enjoy with his game.

The Stats

Sanders never had that eye-popping season or stats like Bowers. It was not until this previous collegiate season that Sanders went over 100 yards receiving when he did it three times. It also might be alarming to some that he only found the end zone seven times in his college career.
