The Raiders continue to be linked to Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty.
Read moreOf all the schools in the country to be sending two high-end wide receivers into one NFL Draft, Iowa State may be one of the last you’d expect. Otto Stowe is the only Cyclone wide receiver to ever be drafted in the first two rounds, but that was all the way back in 1971. Since then, Ike Harris and Allen Lazard had nice NFL careers, but nothing spectacular.
This season, both Jaylin Noel and Jayden Higgins should be day two picks, and one of them could even sneak into the first round. When there are two elite wide receivers coming out of the same school, in the same class, it can be tough to analyze the two of them against each other, and against the other receivers in their class. In this profile we’ll focus on Noel, who spent all four years of his college career in Ames.

Noel hails from Kansas City, Kansas, where he played high school football at Park Hill High School. A four-year varsity letterman, he played alongside fellow receiver Ronnie Bell, who currently plays for the 49ers. He earned all-state honors as a senior, catching 68 passes for 1,005 yards and 10 touchdowns in ten games. He also played basketball (despite his height disadvantages) and sprinted for Park Hill’s track team.
He was a three-star recruit in the 2021 class and earned offers from several large, Midwest programs, such as Kansas State, Nebraska, Minnesota and Iowa. Ultimately, he chose to go to Iowa State, the first FBS team to make him an offer. He enrolled and began playing during the 2021 season.
