Wide receiver Julio Jones has retired after 13 seasons.
Read moreI have hit that age where the players I watched growing up now have their children entering the league. Growing up, Jason Taylor was a specimen for the Miami Dolphins at the DE position, and now his son Mason Taylor is making the leap from LSU to the NFL. Mason’s uncle is Dolphins All-Pro LB Zach Thomas. He doesn’t have the biceps of his father but coming in at 6-5 and 251 pounds, he has a bit of a size on his old man.
Taylor was a well-regarded three-star prospect coming out of the state of Florida. With offers coming in from many of the top SEC teams and the top clubs in Florida, he went to LSU. Can he become a day-two selection like his father, or will he slide down draft boards?
Taylor attended the prestigious St Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He did not have outlandish stats, but as a senior, he had his best season with 403 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He was voted to the Miami Herald All-Boward 8A-6A first team. 247 Sports ranked him as their 51st overall TE, while at rivals, he was their seventh overall TE.

Taylor came in as a freshman and performed for the Tigers' offense. He was voted to the 2022 Freshman All-SEC team while also earning SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll, all while playing as a true freshman. He finished the season third in receptions and receiving yards and had a reception in every single game but one that season. He missed one game as a sophomore with an injury and was still third on the team for receptions.
