The 49ers are unlikely to trade Brandon Aiyuk this off-season.
Read moreWell, that was fun. Another year in the books, and hopefully you were able to grab that dynasty league championship. While the games are thrilling and the results matter, this is the time of year I really look forward to. Yes, the off-season is my favorite part of fantasy football. I love diving into the NFL Draft, analyzing rookies, re-assessing the veteran dynasty landscape, and giving you all the info I can to help you get ready for the upcoming season.
This year, I’m continuing my series – My Dynasty Off-Season. This is where I pull back the curtain a little to share what I’m doing in terms of team building, roster evaluation, player assessments, trade possibilities, value changes, and anything else that’s on my mind. I hope this series helps guide you through the off-season and positions you for success next year. Over the coming weeks, I’m going to share my positional rankings for the rookies in detail. If you missed it, this was the preview version and here was the first installment that covered quarterbacks. Today, let's jump into the running backs.
Jeanty posted a 2023 season at Boise State that was simply a preview of what was to come. Any season with 1,347 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns is impressive, especially on six yards per carry. However, Jeanty obliterated even the loftiest of expectations last year with a massive 2,601 rushing yards with 29 touchdowns on a ridiculous seven yards per carry, putting himself right in the Heisman mix. While he didn’t post those numbers in the SEC or another conference with some better competition, it’s just hard not to look at Jeanty and think he could be the next big thing at he position.
There are a number of landing spots for him in his perceived selection range that are interesting and those include the Raiders (6), Saints (9), Bears (10), 49ers (11), Cowboys (12), Cardinals (16), Bengals (17), Broncos (20), Steelers (21), and Chargers (22), among others. His ultimate landing spot is going to be important as anything other than a true bell cow spot is going to be a bit of a disappointment. Having him be part of a 1-2 punch is great in reality, but it wouldn't be great in dynasty leagues. He's still a top-notch prospect and I have him just a touch higher than the next runner on my list.
