2025 Dynasty Fantasy Football Rookie Profile: Omarion Hampton, RB North Carolina

Omarion Hampton is in the top tiers of many analysts’ rankings and some even have him at the top of their ranks. A highly ranked and well-regarded prospect coming out of North Carolina, he decided to stay in the state as he turned down offers from Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, Florida, and other top-level schools. Hampton turned that high school prospect rank into a strong collegiate career as he prepares for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Hampton attended Cleveland High School in Clayton, North Carolina. Hampton emerged in his sophomore season, totaling 2,402 rushing yards and 35 rushing touchdowns. A broken ankle would limit his junior year, but he came back as a senior, falling 52 yards short of a second 2K rushing season and posting 39 rushing touchdowns. He was ranked as the 11th RB in the 2022 class as a four-star recruit before joining the Tar Heels.

Hampton arrived and, playing in an offense that focused on Drake Maye, took a majority of the RB2 carries as an 18-year-old freshman behind Elijah Green. Even on limited snaps, he found the end zone six times, only two scores behind Green who had almost fifty more carries. As he took over the backfield as a sophomore, he took over and had a mid-season six-game stretch where he ran for over 100 rushing yards each game. He saw solid use as a pass receiver with 29 receptions as a sophomore and 38 as a junior.
