Superflex Dynasty Rankings Explained: Tim Riordan
In our Dynasty Rankings Explained series, DLF rankers explain their dynasty fantasy football rankings, including 2025 rookie draft pick selections so you can see how we each value those dynasty rookie picks compared to players as if it were a dynasty fantasy football startup draft. As expected, you will find a great degree of variability in the valuation of these picks as well depending on the style of the ranker. Each draft class has its own quality and depth and, depending on how the ranker values that quality and depth, individual rookie selections will appear earlier or later on the list.

DLF has always offered our readers multiple sets of dynasty fantasy football rankings from different experts to provide a broad view of player rankings. With many different strategies for building a successful dynasty team, no single set of rankings could possibly meet the needs of every manager. Instead, we've long subscribed to the idea of our experts providing their own individual rankings, ultimately giving our readers the opportunity to gravitate to a particular expert who closely matches their own style of ranking or, perhaps instead, choosing to use an average ranking across all experts.
A note about the tables. The Rank column indicates this ranker's personal rankings. The AVG column indicates the consensus rankings value at the time these rankings were created. The "+/-" column indicates how much higher or lower the ranker is to the consensus average. We'll go 120 players and picks deep, so for a deeper list of rankings, please visit our consensus dynasty fantasy football rankings.
SUPERFLEX DYNASTY FANTASY FOOTBALL RANKINGS: TIM RIORDAN
The 2024 season is wrapped up, but its impact on the dynasty fantasy football landscape still looms large. In a shocking turn of events, it was the high-end running backs that won championships last season, not the superstar wide receivers that we love to build our dynasty teams around. It’s true that wide receivers have longer careers, and tend to be the safer options, but the older running backs ruled the roost this past season.
When we’re making out dynasty fantasy football rankings this season, we have to wonder if last season was an outlier, or if that’s the trend we’ll see going forward. The best teams in football last season had a dominating running back that they leaned on. Taking a look back at my best dynasty teams last season, they’re the teams that feature Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry, not the teams that loaded up at wide receiver. This will have an impact on my rankings, but I’m not making any drastic changes. For the most part, my dynasty strategy remains the same.
A note on my approach to dynasty fantasy football rankings. I put a lot of stock into this upcoming year. The years beyond that are important, but if I think an older player can help me win a title this season, while a younger player is unproven and may be a project, I am going to take that player earlier. You’ll see I push wide receivers down the board a little bit because of this. I want to make sure every position has fantasy football winners in it this season, and I’ll build for the future on my bench or with trades.
Without further ado, my top 120 1QB rankings, including 2024 rookie draft picks.

The easiest mistake to make in superflex leagues is to play catchup at quarterback. It’s the most important position in sports, and it’s the most important position in superflex dynasty leagues as well. For the most part, I’m going to try to take an anchor, superstar quarterback in the first round. For second and third quarterbacks, I don’t mind waiting and picking up a nice value, but you need to make sure you come out of the startup with at least two, if not three, sure things at QB. The top of my board reflects that, with the first six picks all being QBs.
With that being said, the back end of the first round becomes tough. With an elite tier of quarterbacks, and a bit of a dropoff until we get to the Stroud/Herbert tier, you have to make a tough decision. I don’t blame a manager for jumping up and taking Stroud or Herbert to anchor their QB room, but there are some great wide receivers and running backs that I couldn’t rank behind those QBs.
At the end of the second round, my first rookie pick slips in at 22 overall. In my head, I’ve assigned this pick to Ashton Jeanty. In this class, Jeanty should be the first player off the board, even in superflex leagues. Cam Ward is impressive, but he isn’t in the same tier as the star quarterbacks from last year’s draft class. He’s also likely going to be picked by the Titans, a team that has limited weapons and a subpar offense. It may take a year or so for Ward to get going, so I’m putting the 1.02 rookie pick further down the board because of that. With this ranking, I have Jeanty as the number four running back in dynasty. I don’t think the Draft will do much to change that value.
My biggest riser in this group, and in my entire set of rankings, is Drake Maye, who I moved up to 23rd overall. I was extremely impressed with Maye’s rookie season, especially considering the lack of talent he had to throw the ball to. The addition of Diggs helps his value this season, and I’m certain the Patriots will add another wide receiver in the first two days of the NFL Draft. Maye deserves to be a second-round pick in dynasty startups right now.
