Dynasty IDP Waiver Wire: Week Ten
Week Nine in the NFL was all about number 91 for the Cincinnati Bengals, Trey Hendrickson. He had FOUR sacks in this one game, devastating Raiders signal callers all day long. He now has 11 sacks for the season, leading the league in that all-important IDP stat. Unfortunately, the Raiders are going into a bye week, so there’s none to target in that matchup for week 10.
Amazingly, the NFL sack leader is available in 31% of leagues on Sleeper. It’s a unique phenomenon to IDP leagues. The league-leader in rushing yards, passing touchdowns, receptions would NEVER be available in nearly a third of fantasy leagues on the offensive side of the football. But, in the NFL, it isn’t all that uncommon. After a huge week nine performance, his roster percentage will likely rise up into the 90’s, but be sure to check and see if your league is one of the 31% where Hendrickson is available on the wire.
As a reminder, these waiver wire suggestions are based on dynasty leagues that start seven defensive players, two at each position group and a flex. Some players profiled will be for deeper leagues, and others for more shallow leagues, but with no standard format for IDP leagues, we need to cast a wide net. I’ll be using roster percentage data from Sleeper.

Defensive Linemen
Dante Fowler, EDGE WAS, 11%
Fowler has been frequently featured in our waiver wire articles in the past, but a one tackle performance in week eight knocked him down the board. If you held on after that bad game, you absolutely scored in week nine, thanks to two sacks, eight total tackles and a forced fumble against the Giants on Sunday. Fowler now has 6.5 sacks on the season, his most since 2019 when he had 11.5 for the Rams. Going forward, he should be considered a great streaming option at defensive line when he is going up against weak offensive lines. Next week, the Steelers give up 2.6 sacks per game, tied for 11th highest in the league.
Josh Sweat, DE PHI, 28%
Sweat is another player who has been mentioned several times, but he had an even worse week nine than Fowler did, scoring 0.0 IDP points. He followed that up with his first multi-sack performance of the 2024 season. It’s his fifth sack on the season, and he’s up to 19 total tackles. He’ll have another chance to get a sack next week against the Cowboys, especially if Dak Prescott is forced to miss some time. Dallas, like the Steelers, gives up 2.6 sacks per game.
Arden Key, EDGE TEN, 8%
Key logged his fourth sack in three weeks last week, getting to Drake Maye and forcing a fumble. He is a sack-or bust player, so you should only start him in games where you believe he can get to the quarterback. Next week, he gets the Chargers, who have an outstanding offensive line, but have given up 2.6 sacks per game.
Braden Fiske, DE LAR, 28%
Fiske was a constant backfield presence in the Rams thrilling overtime win over the Seahawks. The Rams defensive line is a young, growing unit with Fiske one of several rookies getting plenty of play. They sacked Geno Smith seven times on Sunday, so if they can continue getting in the backfield with ease, they’ll be a force to be reckoned with. They’ll play the Dolphins next week and the Patriots the week after that, two teams that are very susceptible to sacks. Kobie Turner had a big game too, with six total tackles and a sack. He’s on 30% of Sleeper rosters and he played 10 more snaps than Fiske did.
Other Players to Consider: Grover Stewart, DT IND, 12%; Carl Lawson, DE DAL, 3%; Jar’Zhan Newton, DT WAS, 21%; Michael Clemons, DE NYJ, 5%; Gervon Dexter, DT CHI, 13%
Linebackers
Jamien Sherwood, LB NYJ, 31%
Jamien Sherwood is going to remain one of the top pickups at the linebacker position until his roster percentage gets over 35%. He was on the field constantly, playing 98.7% of the game. Seven total tackles was nice, but he also got two sacks, his first time registering in the sack column since 2022. He came into the game with only 0.5 sacks in his entire career, so seeing him get into the backfield this week was refreshing. Next week, he’ll be chasing Kyler Murray and James Conner around in the middle of the Jets defense. CJ Mosley has a chance to make a dent in his role if he ever returns from his neck injury, but Sherwood is playing well enough to have earned an every-down role even when he’s back.
Jahlani Tavai, LB NE, 28%
Tavai had his best game of the season for the Patriots against the Titans on Sunday. He had 11 tackles, 1 for a loss and an interception. He’s on the field a lot, for a Patriots defense that is on the field a lot. Next week, he’ll face off against the Bears, who just gave up a six tackle and two sack week to Zaven Collins.
Devin Bush, LB CLE, 14%
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah landed on IR with a neck injury last week, leaving a major hole at linebacker for the Browns. Of the linebackers who played a larger role on Sunday, Devin Bush was the most effective. He racked up 8 total tackles, a TFL and a sack on the Chargers. He played 81% of the defensive snaps, second on the team amongst linebackers behind Mohamoud Diabate who played 91%. The Browns have a bye week next week, so he won’t immediately be in your lineup, but JOK will miss at least the next three games, bringing us right up to the fantasy playoffs.
Christian Rozeboom, LB LAR, 21%
Rozeboom has an every down role for the Rams, and this week it paid off with 11 total tackles against the Seahawks, two of them for losses. It’s a pretty drastic step up in production for Rozeboom, so it may not last, but Troy Reeder going on IR could lead to more opportunities.
Other Players to Consider: Pete Werner, LB NO, 34%; DeMarvion Overshown, LB DAL, 33%; Jacob Martin, LB CHI, 2%; Kwon Alexander, LB DEN, 4%; Jack Gibbens, LB TEN, 14%; Ventrell Miller, LB JAX, 21%
Defensive Backs
Jaylon McCollough, S LAR, 3%
Jaylen McCollough saw a bunch of work at linebacker this week for the Rams, playing 70% of the snaps, and 70% of those snaps at linebacker. The ability to start a linebacker at a defensive back slot in IDP can reap great rewards, so this is certainly something to monitor. He had six total tackles and he also pulled in his fourth interception of the season.
Kameren Kinchens, S LAR, 14%
While we’re discussing Rams defensive backs, we have to discuss the one who made the defensive play of the day in the NFL.
https://twitter.com/NFL/status/1853226818276626684
That was one of two interceptions he had in the game, the first two of his NFL career, along with three solo tackles. The rookie out of Miami only played in 14 snaps in week eight, but that jumped up to 41 plays this week, one play more than safety Kam Curl. This increased role could be a result of Curl’s week eight injury, but with production like this, he’s earned more playing time going forward. He clearly has a nose for the football, and the end zone.
Tre’Von Moehrig, S LVR, 26%
Moehrig was a high-end waiver wire pickup last week, and he responded with the best game of his season with the Raiders. He had a career-high 13 total tackles and half-a-sack as well. The Raiders have a bye next week, but he may be worth picking up and holding through the bye, especially in deeper IDP leagues.
Demani Richardson, S CAR, 3%
Richardson was inactive for the first seven weeks of his rookie season, but he debuted in week eight, playing 73 snaps and getting 11 total tackles. He did it again in week nine, racking up 12 total tackles, eight solo, and a defended pass on 79 plays (100% snap share). It’s the second straight week he led the team in tackles, so he should be in consideration for a start next week against the Giants.
Other Players to Consider: Deommodore Lenoir, CB SF, 26%; A.J. Terrell, CB ATL, 17%; Amani Hooker, S TEN, 18%; Jalen Mills, CB NYJ, 4%; Christian Izien, S TB, 10%; Xavier Woods, S CAR, 19%
