2024 Dynasty Division Outlook: AFC South

Rob Willette

This year, we’re bringing you an in-depth series covering each NFL division’s dynasty fantasy football outlook, both offense and IDP. We’ll bring you an overview of each team, highlight the best and worst positional groups, and make some predictions for the division as a whole.

Let’s jump into it!

Houston Texans

What a difference a year makes. After parting ways with Lovie Smith after only one season – their second consecutive one-and-done head coach – the Texans had the look of one of the league’s more dysfunctional franchises. What happened next transformed the organization and the league. They look to have nailed both their head coach hire in DeMeco Ryans and quarterback selection in CJ Stroud, quickly making them a genuine contender and one of the more exciting teams in the NFL.

Stroud took the league by storm in 2023. He averaged an incredible 8.2 yards per attempt and helped lead the Texans to a division crown a year after the team went 3-13-1. Dynasty managers took notice, helping Stroud soar to QB5 via ADP. Stroud can run, though it is not a focal point of his game, perhaps preventing him from piling up QB1 overall seasons. However, just posted one of the best rookie seasons we have seen from the position and is part of an ascending offense. His value should hold steady.
