I like this article and feel like I could have written it since I agree with you on every TE mentioned except Dulcich, not that I disagree with you, but am skeptical of training camp reports. Trautman has done nothing. In three full seasons he has averaged 20 catches, 1 touchdown and 200 receiving yards per season.
Tight ends who are successful in this league almost always have some flashes in their first and second years, despite the difficulty of learning the position. He had very little competition in New Orleans and the coaching staff did not think much of him. They traded him to move up from the 7th to 6th round, and now he is a starting TE and a threat to Dulcich who had a really good rookie year on a per game average.
Training camp reports are saying one thing, but my head is saying something else. I would like to hear more about what you think of this.
