2025 Dynasty Fantasy Football Rookie Profile: Tahj Brooks, RB Texas Tech

Tahj Brooks was outside the top 500 players in the 2020 recruiting class but turned into one of the better backs in the Big 12. He finished with back-to-back 1,500-yard seasons and had 20 or more receptions in each of his last three seasons. He is a dual-threat player who will be pushed to day three because of the depth of the running back class.
Let’s look at his draft profile.
Brooks started his career slowly but finished as one of the more productive backs in Texas Tech history. In 2020, he played in ten games but only had 69 attempts, and his yards-per-carry average was below four yards. In 2021, there was an uptick in carries, and he improved his yards per carry. He improved in 2022 and became more involved in the passing game with 26 receptions. In 2023, Brooks exploded for 1,500 yards and 10 touchdowns. He saved his best season for last, running for over 1,500 yards and finishing with his most yards from scrimmage. He ran for over 100 yards in every game and had his highest yards per reception since his 2021 season.
