2025 Dynasty Fantasy Football Rookie Profile: Woody Marks, RB USC

This is a deep running back class and Woody Marks falls into the scrum of the day three backs. The history of day three backs making an impact is not great, but Bucky Irving did buck the trend last year. Marks had a good career at Mississippi State, but the move to USC did give him the chance to show he could be a featured back. Was it enough for him to rise up draft boards? Let’s look at his draft profile.
Marks played at Mississippi State for four years but never went over 1,000 total yards in a season. His highest rushing output was 582 in 2022 and his best receiving output with 502 in 2021. The transfer to USC gave Marks the ability to be featured as a number one back. He finished with 1,133 yards and had the highest yard per carry of his career. He also produced his second-largest yards per reception of his career. Marks was a bright spot on an up-and-down year for USC.

At Mississippi State, Marks ran mostly out of a zone scheme, but USC allowed him to expand his tape. He was able to run in zone and gap schemes while also showing he could get the tough yards between the tackles. As you can see in the Pro Football Focus breakdown, he did well running outside but was effective running inside, especially behind the left guard and center.
