2024 Dynasty Fantasy Football Rookie Profile: Brenden Rice, WR USC

Rob Willette

Marvin Harrison Jr is not the only receiver in the 2024 NFL Draft class with serious NFL bloodlines. USC’s Brenden Rice is the son of Jerry Rice, a man who could seemingly step on the football field today and post 100 yards. The younger Rice is not nearly the talent his father was, but he has the skills to contribute at the NFL level.

In a normal class, Rice may be getting quite a bit of day two love. The sheer depth of the receiver position is sure to push some talented prospects down the board, allowing both NFL teams and fantasy managers to scoop up good players later in their respective drafts.

We look at Rice’s game below.

Rice spent the first two years of his collegiate career at Colorado, which at the time was a disaster of a program that may have been the worst in the Power 5. For obvious reasons, the 2020 season was a developmental nightmare for many prospects. Rice contributing at all – especially during a truncated, six-game season – was a positive note. His 299 receiving yards as a sophomore look modest on the surface, yet it was the second-highest total on the Buffaloes. It is impossible to overstate just how lost this program was in life before Deion Sanders.
