Four Running Backs to Buy, Sell, or Hold in Dynasty Leagues

Wyatt Bertolone

Welcome to the 'Buy, Sell, or Hold' series where each week I’ll be focusing on one position to analyze four players and what we should be doing with them. This week I’ll be focusing on four second-year running backs who are looking to make a jump in 2024.

Zach Charbonnet, RB SEA - Hold

Charbonnet’s rookie year was a bit disappointing considering how he was thought of entering the NFL Draft and how early he was taken in rookie drafts. In 2023, he averaged just 6.6 PPR points per game with just three games over 10 points, one of which came while starter Kenneth Walker was out to injury. Many expected Charbonnet to eat into Walker’s opportunities taking third downs and short yardage situations, which to an extent he did. But the opportunities he did take weren’t enough to really make an impact as Walker continued to be the RB1 for Seattle. Will Charbonnet make a larger impact in year two?

The Move – Charbonnet looks to be valued properly right now sitting as the RB33 in the DLF February Startup ADP and RB29 in the DLF Rankings. I have him as my RB31 so I’m right in line. I do think that Charbonnet can be a productive running back in the NFL if given the opportunity but also believe that Walker is clearly the better player and will continue to lead the backfield. But, with that said, Charbonnet is still one of the top handcuff running backs while having the possibility of earning a larger role and there’s value in that. I’m holding if I have him but also not looking to acquire him if I don’t.
