Dynasty Fantasy Football Trading Post: TJ Hockenson

Russ Fisher

Last week we talked about Tank Dell, a wide receiver who spent last season scoring a lot of points until getting hurt later in the season. The reasoning behind trading for Dell was “out of sight, out of mind”, where he spent part of the point-scoring season not scoring points so he is further out of people’s minds than other players who were scoring points.

Another player who fits this situation but also can give a strong positional advantage is...

TJ Hockenson, TE MIN

Even though Hockenson didn’t get hurt until week 16 of the NFL season, he was a player who was most likely on a team making a championship run. Even after being hurt and missing a game and a half of the fantasy season, our guy finished as both the points per game and overall TE1 in .75 tight end premium.

The big difference here and why I think prices might be right for Hockenson is that his injury might drag into the beginning of the next season. Even though that sounds scary, remember what I said before: he missed a game and a half and still finished as the TE1 in overall scoring. So whether he misses a game or two or makes the start of the season and starts off slowly, we know that he is talented enough to still score at the top of his position.

Let’s take a look at the DLF Trade Finder and Trade Analyzer and see what some real-life Hockenson deals look like.
