IDP Snap Counts: Week Ten

Tom Kislingbury

We now have only three regular season games until the playoffs start in most leagues. Here is the info on where to find contributors or stashes depending on the state of your team.

Arizona Cardinals

DT Corey Peters returned to play 43 snaps. Robert Nkemdiche didn’t see the field at all this week due to injury.

Deone Bucannon played just ten snaps at LB.

Atlanta Falcons

CB Isaiah Oliver missed out this week with Robert Alford (53) coming back to the team.

Brice Irvin played just 14 snaps on his debut with Takk McKinley (24, Brooks Reed (25), Vic Beasley (21) and Derrick Shelby (25) all ahead of him.

Baltimore Ravens

No snaps due to bye week.

Buffalo Bills

CB Philip Gaines was unceremoniously cut after playing the past five games. Levi Wallace was his replacement with 56 snaps. Wallace is a poor player.

Rookie LB sensation Tremaine Edmunds returned from his concussion to play 53 snaps. Julian Stanford dropped back to just three snaps as a result.

Safety/slot Rafael Bush played 36 snaps this week, his highest total since week four.

Carolina Panthers

Mario Addison drew a blank on the stat sheet but did play 38 snaps. He’s still a great starting option – it was just one of those weird weeks.

Chicago Bears

Edge rusher Khalil Mack made his return from injury to play 57 snaps this week. Kylie Fitts dropped back to the bench.

Cincinnati Bengals

The LB position continues to be a real problem. Preston Brown played 65 snaps and Jordan Evans 71. Both of them are having poor seasons but racking up IDP points.

Jordan Willis continues to play heavily at DE. He led the unit with 45 snaps this week. He has yet to record a sack but he’s getting opportunities.

Cleveland Browns

Denzel Ward was perfectly fine after his injury last week. He played 75 snaps and continues to amass huge volume.

Joe Schobert returned at LB as we expected and played 51 snaps. Christian Kirksey is now on IR and missed the game. Genard Avery played 53 snaps mostly on the edge and Tanner Vallejo still managed 41 – even with Jamie Collins leading the way with 71. Gregg Williams does tend to favor heavy LB usage.

At safety Damarious Randall was active and played 74 snaps with Derrick Kindred on 25 and Jabrill Peppers on 49.

Dallas Cowboys

DE Taco Charlton missed the game with a shoulder injury. No one really noticed. Randy Gregory did step in to play 40 snaps.

With Sean Lee hurt (again), Jaylon Smith (62) and Leighton Vander Esch (62) continue to be effective.

Denver Broncos

No snaps due to bye week.

Detroit Lions

Darius Slay missed this game at corner. DeShawn Shead (47) stepped up in his absence.

Ezekiel Ansah played more than his 12 snaps last week – but not much. He saw just 15 snaps.

Green Bay Packers

Kevin King has been woefully unreliable this season. He missed this game. Rookies Jaire Alexander (59) and Josh Jackson (68) continue to see heavy action.

OLB Kyler Fackrell (48) saw his heaviest action of the season. He led the position in playing time with Clay Matthews on 47 and Nick Perry on just 15.

Safety Josh Jones again played heavily at safety with 61 snaps. He has 112 snaps in two weeks now after playing just four in the Packers first seven games.

Houston Texans

No snaps due to bye week.

Indianapolis Colts

The Colts played 75 snaps this week, their most since week four.

At safety Malik Hooker and Clayton Geathers were both fit enough to play every snaps, the first time that’s happened in over a month.

At LB, rookie phenom Darius Leonard is the only every-down LB. He played 75 with Anthony Walker on 45. Walker has consistently been playing much less than Leonard.

Rookie DE Kemoko Turay missed this game. But fellow rookie Tyquan Lewis made his debut and played 54 snaps.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Corner D.J. Hayden returned from injury in the slot. He played 26 snaps.

Kansas City Chiefs

The biggest change for the Chiefs this week was LB Anthony Hitchens missing out due to his injury. In his absence, Dorian O’Daniel played 43 snaps and Ben Niemann 29. Daniel Sorenson returned as well with 32. He’s technically a safety but very much plays a hybrid role.

Justin Houston also returned on the edge with 49 snaps. Breeland Speaks played just 24 as a result.

Los Angeles Chargers

Denzel Perryman played just two snaps before getting hurt – which has sent him to IR.

Jatavis Brown led the way with 61 snaps, Hayes Pullard played 16 and ‘safety’ Adrian Phillips 47. Phillips has averaged 50 snaps over his past five games and is likely an every-week IDP starter for the rest of the season.

Los Angeles Rams

No huge changes this week as the Rams are a settled unit. Dante Fowler played 49 snaps on the edge and is clearly their top player there for now.

Sam Shields (29) also returned at corner, leading Troy Hill (39) to play less.

Miami Dolphins

This week Raekwon McMillan (45) out-snapped Jerome Baker (37) but as we’ve seen it varies wildly by week. Neither is a reliable starter.

Reshad Jones (45) decided to actually play most of the game this week which was kind of him.

Minkah Fitzpatrick actually played a lot at outside corner this week. It was probably an emergency measure, but it was not good for IDP owners.

Minnesota Vikings

No snaps due to bye week.

New England Patriots

Deatrich Wise Jr. played 43 snaps this week. His highest total since week two. Wise is a talent waiting to break out. His usage has been frustrating but he’s very interesting.

New Orleans Saints

The Saints played just 43 snaps this week which is absurdly low. They also won handily over the Bengals so many of their players were rested. Chalk this week down to a weird occurrence and don’t let it cloud your judgment.

New York Jets

Corner Darryl Roberts missed the game entirely with Trumaine Johnson (66) returning.

Frankie Luvu (21) also returned from injury on the edge.

New York Giants

Alec Ogletree returned after a one-game absence to play 73 snaps. Fellow LB B.J. Goodson managed just 34 snaps.

Oakland Raiders

With Bruce Irvin cut there were some snaps to go around at DE. Shilique Calhoun (24) picked some up as did Jacquies Smith (13). Both are simply placeholders.

This week Marcus Gilchrist (50) and Karl Joseph (45) played at safety with Reggie Nelson (12) and Erik Harris (11) seeing bit-parts. The Raider’s use of safeties seems totally random.

Philadelphia Eagles

Cornerback is suddenly a huge problem for the Eagles. Ronald Darby played 49 snaps but has since been put on IR. Jalen Mills missed the game through injury. Rasul Douglas played 67 snaps and Chandon Sullivan 19. The situation is bad enough to stop the Eagles being close to a contender. But opens up plenty of likely targets for us IDP players.

Pittsburgh Steelers

There were no big changes for the Steelers who only played 57 snaps as they mauled the Panthers. Morgan Burnett played 38 snaps but that may well have been just to rest Terrell Edmunds (33) and Sean Davis (46) a little.

Seattle Seahawks

DE Dion Jordan (33) has played 86 snaps over the past three games. Remember when people thought he might be really good this year? Try and sell him to one of those people.

Elsewhere the team is pretty settled with Bradley McDougald (44) playing again after an injury scare last week. Delano Hill (21) still had some time and may well be a 2019 stash.

San Francisco 49ers

Reuben Foster missed this game. That’s five times out of ten games this year he’s been out or been injured. Malcolm Smith (59) again covered.

Dekoda Watson (19) and Mark Nzeocha (26) continue to split a role.

Safety Antone Exum (57) returned to play but Jaquiski Tartt is due back next week. Don’t bother with Exum.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

With Kwon Alexander out for the season, Adarius Taylor (37) continues to play. Plenty of IDP owners are hoping Kendell Beckwith comes back to make a big splash. Beckwith was pretty awful in NFL terms last year and Mike Smith has departed so he might not come back into a big job.

Tennessee Titans

There were no major changes this week for the Titans. They’re really starting to settle defensively under Mike Vrabel and Dean Pees.

Washington Redskins

CB Quinton Dunbar was again hurt this week and missed the game. He’s played just 26 snaps over the past four weeks. Rookie Greg Stroman played 39 snaps and was targeted eight times. He is an IDP dream given the volume he attracts.
