DLF Unveils New Tools and Unlocks FADS 1.0

tools

Followers of DLF know we offer much more than just content and the DLF Forum.  Over the past year, our own FFGhost has been working tirelessly on many new tools for the followers of DLF.  We’ve unveiled three new tools for our Premium Subscribers to use for free and we’ve even unlocked a version of one of them for everyone to use.

The HAL Report

The FFGhost wanted to provide DLF’s subscribers a way to track (and plan for) the aging of their squad in an elegant, data-packed and easy to understand way. Sure, we could all go player by player and gather this information, but honestly who has time? Throw in the fact that a huge percentage of you, just like him, have more than one league (in some cases a great many more than one league) and you’ve got a lot of information to try to track. That information needs to be readily available and it needs to have context, but how?

We’re proud to present the newest tool from the FFGhost, the HAL Report.

HAL stands for Health and Longevity, which, as you can guess, is what this report gathers, interprets and displays about your team. The HAL Report will provide you all the following information:

  • Your oldest, youngest and average age of your players
  • The average years of NFL experience on your team
  • Players with the most and least NFL experience
  • The median age and NFL experience of your squad versus the NFL as a whole
  • Break down the age of your squad down by position as well as by NFL experience
  • Detail the composition of your squad by positional percentage
  • Display the oldest player per position on your squad

Suffice to say, this report is exactly what every dynasty fantasy owner needs in order to keep their team as competitive as possible. Any successful dynasty team mixes youth with experience, it’s a tough balance to strike, but the HAL Report makes this task a whole lot easier.

What’s more is you can run the HAL Report on any team in your league, not just your own! Maybe you’ve got a great balance going but perhaps another team in your league needs help and could be a potential trading partner or maybe your team is aging and you need a trading partner who could be seeking some experience. There are a lot of other scenarios in which the HAL Report can pair you up with trading partners, the limit is your imagination.

The Essential Dynasty Cheat Sheet

As always, we provide a draft cheat sheet each year for our Premium Subscribers. Subscribers will find the updated “Essential Dynasty Cheat Sheet” here and it includes all the following rankings that feature nearly 550 ranked players for the following positions:

Quarterbacks
Running Backs
Wide Receivers
Tight Ends
Rookies
D/ST
Defensive Tackles
Defensive Ends
Safeties
Cornerbacks
Linebackers

Keep in mind you can always view our updated rankings on the site and that the offensive rankings are for standard PPR leagues, so adjust accordingly.

FADS

As you may recall, the FFGhost unleashed the FADS (Flexible Auction Draft Worksheet) last year. This worksheet allows you to work through your salary cap auction draft using three different approaches:

1.) An aggressive approach which focuses on get the best possible lineup for an owner but with very limited depth
2.) A value and depth based approach which seeks to value an owner’s bench and starting lineup roughly the same
3.) A balanced approach which allows an owner to determine what percentage of their salary cap they want to allocate to their starting lineup and what percentage they wish to allocate to their bench.

This worksheet was well received by the Premium community and even received this praise from a member, “The FADS system just helped me destroy my first SC/Auction league Draft. I scoured the internet looking for rankings and values, but I just wasn’t satisfied with what I was finding. …. Wow what a difference and yes, I think it is revolutionary. It helped me put value on EVERY player, if I wasn’t sure about a player I ALWAYS went to my FADS notebook.”

We’re very excited to announce the new FADS 2.0 is now available.  This new version takes FADS to a whole new level, adding even more flexibility to the worksheet and making it easier than ever for auction participants to get the sheet up in running. Below is the entire list of what has been changed in version 2.0:

  • New “Sideline” theme deployed to keep FADS in line with current and future applications
  • Users can now obtain bid amounts for bench players
  • Minimum start bid per player are now accounted for
  • FADS now auto-fills several fields which required user input in version 1.0
  • Users are now given a visual cue as to which player rows must be filled out with the “Pick?” column
  • Players can now see how much they can spend, on average, for the remaining starting players, bench players and all players overall
  • FADS now displays starting and bench players percentage of team points vs. salary allocation
  • Player dropdown list is now sorted alphabetically

As you can see, FADS now gives its users more information and asks them to do much less than ever before. If you’re not sure if you’d use this type of tool, we’re offering FADS 1.0 for all our followers to use for free!

Keep in mind the FADS and HAL report are designed to gather data from publicly accessible MFL leagues only at the moment. If you have any trouble with either report, we’ll be glad to assist.

Have fun!
