Dynasty Rookie Report Card: Jayden Daniels and Ray Davis

John DiBari

Each week throughout the 2024 NFL season, I’ll cover two rookies in the Rookie Report Card and will generally write about the most prominent performers from that particular week. I’ll discuss how well he’s lived up to expectations at the NFL level and then grade the player in three categories: performance to date, rookie season potential, and long-term upside.

Starting this week, I’ve been tasked with taking over the Rookie Report Card series after a multi-year run from Dan Meylor and Matt Price. While I hope to do this series justice, I will likely be more negative than my counterparts have been in the past, so I hope you enjoy the new perspective with several bad grades on the horizon.

Jayden Daniels, QB WAS

Week 3 stats: 21 completions on 23 passing attempts for 254 yards and two touchdowns, 12 carries for 39 yards and one touchdown.

Daniels had his NFL coming out party in week three, where he amassed an insane 91 completion percentage while registering his first two NFL touchdown passes and topping 250 passing yards for the first time as well. He wasn’t done there, as he also added a rushing touchdown on 12 carries. Depending on your league scoring, Daniels is somewhere in the top three at the position three weeks into his rookie campaign - a result many had hoped for. Still, I suspect nobody honestly expected this much from him this early.
