Odunze was born in Las Vegas and attended Bishop Gorman High School, where he was a superstar at football and track. He was all-state as a junior in 2019, winning the 4A state title in 200 meters and the 4x100 relay. On the gridiron, he was equally as dominant. In his career, he caught 121 balls for 2,699 yards and 31 touchdowns. As a senior, he caught 54 passes for 1,222 yards and 15 touchdowns in 13 games. He went over 100 yards in all but one game and scored in every game. He was named the Gatorade Player of the Year and the MaxPreps Player of the Year for the state of Nevada in 2019. 247Sports ranked him as the 135th prospect in the nation and the 22nd receiver. A four-star recruit, he received 33 offers, including Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia and Miami. Washington was the choice and he enrolled for the 2020 season.
