Taking advantage of potential valuation trends in the trade market is imperative. That is even more true during the season when players can experience wild valuation changes on a week-to-week basis. Each week, I will be highlighting some players you should be looking to move or acquire and the reasons why.
Williams has simply been getting it done this season. An afterthought as little as two months ago, he is currently the RB8 in points per game. However, he suffered a sprained ankle on Sunday and is now expected to miss some time. Given that he popped up out of nowhere at the start of the season, GMs of Williams may be viewing this as an ideal sell window, given he is not helping contenders and may not have tremendous value moving forward. Whenever a player becomes an obvious sell, I want to flip that.
He is expected to miss only a week or two. If you're a true contender, you should be able to cope without him for a couple of weeks. Williams is seeing over a 70% opportunity share and has produced a top 12 week in 66% of his games. He is a back-end RB1 hiding in plain sight. If you can pounce and sit him on your bench for a few weeks, you could have a hugely helpful RB2/flex play ready to help you during the playoff stretch. Now, the important thing is the price. You may be able to acquire him for as little as a single 2024 second. I would pay two seconds if you're a true contender. You cannot often obtain a borderline top-12 running back that cheap.
